Two ocean beaches are being affected by erosion. The table shows the width, in feet, of each beach measured at high tide where 1

995 is represented by year 0:
Question 1a. Describe the patterns shown by the erosion data measurements shown for each of the beaches in the table.
Question 1b. Between which years will the beaches have approximately the same width?
Question 1c. Assuming these rates remain constant, what can you do to get a better approximation of when the two beaches will have the same width?

A= 1.142 m/hr

Width of beach at 8 p.m. = 36 m

Width of beach at 3 a.m. = (36-8) m =28 m

Average change in width(A) = change in width (Width of beach at 8 p.m.-Width of beach at 3 a.m.0/ time in hours

A= ( 36-28)/ 7

A= 8/7 m/hr

A = 1.142 m /hr

The complement of angle a is 20° less than half the supplement of angle a. find the measure of angle a.
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

∠a=40°

Step-by-step explanation:

complement of angle a=90-a

supplement of angle a=180-a

90-a=1/2(180-a)-20

multiply by 2

180-2a=180-a-40

180-180+40=-a+2a

a=40

Answer:

Option D that is y=-2(x+1) is the correct choice.

Explanation:

Given equation:

y=2x-2

We have to find another equation which has only one solution.

Standard form of equation:

1.a_1x+b_1y+c_1=0

2.a_2x+b_2y+c_2=0

Condition for one solution.

\frac{a_1}{a_2} \neq \frac{b_1}{b_2}

We have to arrange other equation in the form of  ax+by+c=0

Mark all the options as a,b,c and d.

a.\ 2x+1-y=0

b.\ 2x-2-y=0

c.\ 2x-4-y=0

d.-2x-2-y=0

Now from the above options we can see that option a,b\ and\ c are not providing the desired result.

So

\frac{a_1}{a_2} \neq \frac{b_1}{b_2} can be obtained from the last option.

As

\frac{a_1}{a_2} \neq \frac{b_1}{b_2} ,\frac{2}{-2} \neq \frac{-1}{-1} ,-1\neq 1

Option D that is y=-2(x+1) is the equation from where we can obtained only one solution.
