The green dotted line goes from left to right so it’s going up which means we’re now gonna take the point 0,-4 and count how many points it goes to the right which is 1 and now we count how many it goes up which is 1 so the slope for the green table is 1,1


Blue: the points going to the right is 1 and the points it’s going up is 3 so the slope is 1,3

  2. Determine the different variables by the following formulas:

    yₙ₊₁ = yₙ + Δx · f(xₙ, yₙ)     (3)
  3. Find the integral.

The table for x, f(xₙ, yₙ) and y is shown in the image attached below. By direct subtraction we find that the <em>numerical</em> approximation of the <em>definite</em> integral is:

y(4) ≈ 4.189 648 - 0
