Preponderance of evidence is the burden of proof lies on the plaintiff/the person suing in the case.

What is preponderance of evidence?

This type of evidence is used in civil cases where the burden of proof lies on the person who sues, i.e. the plaintiff. The evidence must be credible and convincing as compared to other party of the case.

So in the above statement when a man sues a corporation regrading unsafe business practices he has the burden of proof under preponderance of evidence.

Therefore, option b aptly describes the burden of proof.
