1. A. Tectonic earthquakes occur when rigid plates move because of a fault on the Earth's crust, while volcanic earthquakes occur when rigid plates move because of volcanism. B. Volcanic earthquakes occur when rigid plates move because of a fault on the Earth's crust, while tectonic earthquakes occur when rigid plates move because of volcanism.

Volcanoes and earthquakes occur due to movement of the Earth's tectonic plates.

How volcanoes and earthquake occur?

Both volcanoes and earthquakes occur due to movement of the Earth's tectonic plates. They both occurs due to the heat and energy that is releasing from the Earth's core. Earthquakes can increase or fastens the volcanic eruptions through severe movement of tectonic plates.

Volcanoes eruption occurs when molten rock called magma rises to the surface. Magma is formed when the earth's mantle part melts due to higher temperature.

So we can conclude that volcanoes and earthquakes occur due to movement of the Earth's tectonic plates.

Hydrogen gas was collected by water displacement. what was pressure of the h2 collected if the temperature was 26°c?
Vedmedyk [2.9K]
The ideal gas law may be written as
p= \frac{\rho R T}{M}
where
p = pressure
ρ =density
T = temperature
M = molar mass
R = 8.314 J/(mol-K)

For the given problem,
ρ = 0.09 g/L = 0.09 kg/m³
T = 26°C = 26+273 K = 299 K
M = 1.008 g/mol = 1.008 x 10⁻³ kg/mol

Therefore
p= \frac{(0.09 \, kg/m^{3})*(8.314 \, J/(mol-K))*(299 \, K)}{1.008 \times 10^{-3} \, kg/mol} =2.2195 \times 10^{5} \, Pa

Note that 1 atm = 101325 Pa
Therefore
p = 2.2195 x 10⁵ Pa
 = 221.95 kPa
 = (2.295 x 10⁵)/101325 atm
 = 2.19 atm

Answer:
2.2195 x 10⁵ Pa (or 221.95 kPa or 2.19 atm)

A sample of gas has a volume of 215 cm3 at 23.5 degrees Celsius and 84.6kPa what volume will the gas occupy at stp
miss Akunina [59]

The volume of the gas that occupy at STP is 165. 28 cm^3

calculation

by use of combined gas law that is P1V1/T1=P2V2/T2, where

P1=84.6 kpa

T1=23.5 +273=296.5 K

V1=215 cm^3

At STP T= 273 K and P= 101.325 Kpa

therefore p2 = 101.325 Kpa and T2 = 272 K V2=?

by making V2 the subject of the formula V2 =T2P1V1/P2T1

V2 = 273 K x 84.6 Kpa x 215 cm^3/ 101,.325 Kpa x296.5 K =165.28 cm^3

Rutherford, geiger, and marsden’s experiment demonstrated that the volume of the nucleus is roughly what fraction of the volume
trasher [3.6K]
Rutherford, Geiger and Marsden's experiment proved that every atom has a nucleus and that this nucleus is of positive charge and contains the most of the mass of the atom. 0.005% of the volume occupied by the electrons is the volume of the nucleus.
