The correct answer is conference committee.

A conference committee is a mechanism by which the House of Representatives and the Senate reconcile differences between legislation they have passed in their respective chambers in order to pass one identical piece of legislation.

Conference committees operate after the House and the Senate have passed different versions of a bill. The committees draft a compromise bill that both houses can accept. Both houses must eventually pass identical legislation to be presented to the President.

The final work of a conference committee is called a conference report.
