The Moon illusion is the name for this trick our brains play on us. Photographs prove that the Moon is the same width near the horizon as when it's high in the sky, but that's not what we perceive with our eyes. Thus it's an illusion rooted in the way our brains process visual information. Even though we've been observing it for thousands of years, there's still not a satisfying scientific explanation for exactly why we see it.

Vladimir [108]

Answer:

Thirty years ago, the culture of American sports took a new course. An idea shouldered by a former sports communication executive, along with his son and other partners, would go on to transform the way we consume, analyze and interpret the world of athletics, and would influence international sport culture as well. While sports have always acted as a medium for those looking to escape the drudgeries of work, a way to channel negative emotions into something engaging and entertaining, ESPN presented a new opportunity for fans: an all-encompassing cable network for not only sports itself but also for the culture surrounding sports.,

Water flowing through a pipe suddenly comes to a section of pipe where the pipe diameter decreases to 86% of its previous value.
lord [1]
In all the sections of the pipe, volumetric flow rate is the same. Therefore,
Q1 = Q2

Q = VA, V = velocity, A = Cross-sectional area.

Then,
V1A1 = V2A2

But,
A = πD^2/4
Then,
V1·πD1^2/4 = V2·πD2^2/4
V1·D1^2 = V2·D2^2

But
D2/D1 = 86% = 0.86, or D1/D2 = 1/0.86
Therefore,
V2 = (V1D1^2)/D2^2 = V1·(D1/D2)^2 = 66*(1/0.86)^2 = 89.24 m/s

The speed in the smaller section is 89.24 m/s.
