The ozone layer is an important component of earth’s atmosphere because it helps to block uv radiation from reaching earth. the

ozone layer absorbs most of the harmful uv radiation from the sun and stores it as heat within the stratosphere. if the ozone layer were completely removed, what effect would that change have on temperature?

If ozone layer is completely removed then many severe effects can be seen in the temperature of the earth.

  • The ice in the Antarctica starts getting melt which increases the level of water in ocean and proved to be harmful for the coastal areas.
  • The rise in temperature also lead to long summers and high temperatures ranges from 50° C to 65° C .

Explanation:

The removal of ozone layer will not only effect the temperature but also had a great impact on human and animals such as

  • The harmful rays will directly fall on earth in the absence of ozone cause cancer in animals, plants and humans.
  • These harmful rays weaken the immune system.
  • Lead to disturbance of food chain in following ways : -
  1. It will led to increase in herbivores as a result, the number of plants will decrease and the amount of oxygen will also decrease in the atmosphere.
  2. The carnivores keep the population of other carnivores and herbivores in check. This will disturb the balance of ecosystem.
  3. The concentration of harmful chemicals is maximum at the last trophic level . Because these chemicals are not degradable, these get accumulated progressively at each trophic level.

15. A volleyball player who weighs 650 Newtons jumps 0.500 meters vertically off the floor. What is her kinetic energy just befo
allochka39001 [22]

Kinetic energy just before hitting the floor is 324.57 J

Explanation:

Weight of volleyball player = 650 N

That is

            Mass x Acceleration due to gravity = 650

            Mass x 9.81 = 650

            Mass = 66.26 kg

We also have equation of motion v² = u² + 2as

Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

Acceleration, a = 9.81 m/s²

Final velocity, v = ?

Displacement, s = 0.5 m

Substituting

v² = u² + 2as

v² = 0² + 2 x 9.81 x 0.5

v = 3.13 m/s

Velocity with which he lands on ground is 3.13 m/s

We have kinetic energy = 0.5 x Mass x Velocity²

Substituting

          Kinetic energy = 0.5 x 66.26 x 3.13²

           Kinetic energy = 324.57 J

Kinetic energy just before hitting the floor is 324.57 J

How does the use of renewable sources of energy help to solve the problem of energy
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

The use of renewable sources of energy help to solve the problem of energy crisis is discussed below in details.

Explanation:

Environmental and economic advantages of adopting renewable energy incorporate: Creating energy that originates no greenhouse gas discharges from fossil fuels and decreases some kinds of air pollution. Increasing energy stocks and decreasing dependency on shipped fuels.

Here are 5 actionable suggestions you can follow to make a decent utilization of renewable energy on your bases:

  • Embrace Solar-Powered Technologies.
  • Crowdfund Clean Energy Projects.
  • Establish the Society of Concerned Scientists.

A jewellery melts 500g of Silver to pour into a mould. Calculate how much energy was released as the silver solidified.
irga5000 [103]

When silver is poured into the mould the it will solidify

In this process the phase of the Silver block will change from liquid to solid.

This phase change will lead to release in heat and this heat is known as latent heat of fusion.

The formula to find the latent heat of fusion is given as

Q = mL

here given that

m = mass = 500 g

L = 111 kJ/kg

now we can find the heat released

Q = 0.5 * 111 kJ

Q = 55.5 kJ

So it will release total heat of 55.5 kJ when it will solidify
