Four different constant forces are exerted on a 2. 0 kg object. The figure represents the magnitude and direction of each force.

Based on the mass of the object, and its acceleration, the time taken to reach a speed of 2.0 m/s is 4 seconds.

How many seconds will the object take to reach the required speed?

The time can be found as:

= Required speed / Acceletation

Accelaration is:

= Force / Mass

= (0.99iN + 0jN) / 2kg

= 0.5 ms⁻²

Time taken is:

= 2 / 0.5

= 4 seconds

Since the force that axts on the object is the resultant force, the time taken is 0.8 s.

What is resolution of forces?

Since force is a vector, it can be resolved into its components. From the complete question, the componenets of the force are;

Vertical component;

  • 5N sin 37
  • 3N sin 90
  • 17 N
  • -20N
  • Total = 3 + 3 + 17 - 20 = 3 N

Horizontal component;

  • 5N cos 37
  • 3N cos 90
  • Total = 3.99 + 0 = 4

Resultant force = √(3)^2 + (4)^2 = 5N

Now;

F = ma

a = F/m

a = 5N/2. 0 kg

a = 2.5 m/s^2

Given that;

v = u + at

since u = 0 (object started from rest)

2 = 2.5 * t

t = 2/2.5 = 0.8 s

What is the energy source of the convection cells in the earth's mantle?
stich3 [128]
A. Radioactive decay does not result in heat. Gravity also does not result in heat. In the Earth's mantle, it is highly unlikely that the radiation from the sun would reach that deep into the earth.

Approximately 80% of the energy used by the body must be dissipated thermally. The mechanisms available to eliminate this energy
Semenov [28]

Answer:

the correct answer is c) 23 g

Explanation:

The heat lost by the runner has two parts: the heat absorbed by sweat in evaporation and the heat given off by the body

     Q_lost = - Q_absorbed

The latent heat is

      Q_absorbed = m L

The heat given by the body

      Q_lost = M c_{e} ΔT

where m is the mass of sweat and M is the mass of the body

       m L = M c_{e} ΔT

        m = M c_{e} ΔT / L

let's replace

        m = 90  3.500  1.8 / 2.42 10⁶

        m = 0.2343 kg

reduced to grams

        m = 0.2342 kg (1000g / 1kg)

        m = 23.42 g

the correct answer is c) 23 g
