Answer:

\frac{\sqrt{3} }{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{1}{1+\sqrt{3} }

basically we want to get rid of the √3 on the denominator

to do so we multiply it by itself so it is a perfect square

but whatever we do to the top we must do to the bottom so we multiply the numerator and denominator by √3

\frac{1*\sqrt{3} }{1+\sqrt{3}*\sqrt{3}  }=\frac{\sqrt{3} }{1+\sqrt{9} } =\frac{\sqrt{3} }{1+3} =\frac{\sqrt{3} }{4}

notes : √3 × √3 = √9 which is a perfect square that simplfies to 3

What is the perimeter of the triangle shown on the coordinate plane, to the nearest tenth of a unit?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Let us find the co ordinates of each vertex of the triangle .

Vertex A ( in firs second quadrant) = ( -5 ,3)

vertex B in third quadrant = ( -5, -5)

vertex C in fourth quadrant = ( 4, -2)

let us use distance formula AB^2 = ( -5 - 3)^2 + (-5 - -5 )^2 = 64 + 0

AB= 8

BC^2 = ( -2 - -5 )^2 + ( 4 - - 5)^2 = 9 + 81 = 90

BC = 9.48

AC^2 = ( -2 -3)^2 +( 4- -5)^2 = 25 + 81 = 106

AC= 10.29

Perimeter = sum of length of AB+ BC+ Ac = 8 + 10.29 + 9.48= 22.77

2. Find the length of a side of a square if its area is:
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

9 inches ; 0.7 units ; m units

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a square is give as :

The square of the side length of the square ; that is ;

Area of square = s² ;

Where s =! Side length of the square

Hence ;

A square with area = 81 in²

Length of its side = sqrt(81) = 9 inches

Area of square = 0.49 unit²

Length of its side = sqrt(0.49) = 0.7 units

Area of square = m² unit²

Length of its side = sqrt(m²) = m units

\begin{aligned} &2x+7y=1 \\\\ &y=4x -8 \end{aligned}
Lina20 [59]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

hello :

2x+7y=1 ...(*)

y=4x−8...(**)

(4;8) means x= 4 and y= 8

put this values in (*) and(**) :

2(4)+7(8) =1           62=1    false

8=4(4)-8          8=8   true

so :(4;8)  is not solution for this system.

A sum of money is divided between A,B and C in the ratio 9:8:7. If the total sum of money shared is 480. How much money does A r
mr Goodwill [35]

Given:

A sum of money is divided between A,B and C in the ratio 9:8:7.

Total sum is 480.

To find:

The part of money A get.

Solution:

Let A, B and C get 9x, 8x and 7x respectively.

Total sum is 480.

9x+8x+7x=480

24x=480

Divide both sides by 24.

x=\dfrac{480}{24}

x=20

Now,

A\ get =9x

A\ get =9(20)

A\ get =180

Therefore, amount received by A is 180.
