The required moles of water and anhydrous salt in the given reaction is 0.06 moles.

What is the relation between mass & moles?

Relation between the mass and moles of any substance will be represented as:

n = W/M, where

 • W = given mass
 • M = molar mass

From the given data, mass of left water will be calculated by substracting the mass of CuSO₄ from the anhydrous salt as:

 • Mass of Left water = 1.6 - 0.5 = 1.1 g
 • Moles of left water = 1.1g / 18g/mol = 0.06 moles

Chemical reaction will be represented as:

CuSO₄.XH₂O → CuSO₄ + XH₂O

From the stoichiometry of the reaction it is clear that 0.06 moles of water is produced from 0.06 moles of anhydrous compound.

Ratio of the moles of water to salt = 0.06 / 0.06 = 1

So name of the compound CuSO₄.H₂O is copper sulfate monohydrate.

Hence, 0.06 moles of water as well as anhydrous compound is involved in the reaction and name of the obtained compound is copper sulfate monohydrate.

Write out the balanced equation for the reaction that occurs when Li and H2O react together. You do not need to make your subscr
Anarel [89]
Li + H2O → LiOH + H2

The equation is currently unbalanced, so to balance it out, you have to have the same number of each molecule on each side. It'll look like this:

2Li + 2H2O → 2LiOH + H2

Also, in case you want to identify the phases as well, it'll be like this:

2Li (s) + 2H2O (l) → 2LiOH (aq) + H2 (g)

"s" is solid.
"l" is liquid.
"aq" is aquas.
"g" is gas.

If the concentration of sugar in water is determined to be 45 g/100 ml and 135 g of sugar was used to make the solution how much
-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

300g of water was used to make the solution

Explanation:

In the sugar solution, there are dissolved 45g of sugar in 100mL of water. The conversion factor is 45g Sugar = 100mL water. That means when 135g of sugar are used the amount of water is:

135g sugar * (100mL water / 45g sugar) =

Metals bond with halogens to form colorless metal halides. During an experiment, bromine water was added to a solution of potass
Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

Bromine displaced iodide to form iodine

Explanation:

In this experiment, liquid bromine was allowed to react with a solution of potassium iodide.

Initially, we had a colorless KI solution which was mixed with light orange Br_2. If we add a light orange solution to a colorless solution, liquid bromine will get diluted and we'll see a slight decrease in its color intensity, however, if no reaction takes place, no color change will occur.

In the experiment, however, we examine a formation of a deep brown solution. Remember that iodine solution would form a brown solution.

As a result, bromine displaced iodide anion from potassium iodide:

2~KI~(aq) + Br_2~ (l)\rightarrow 2~KBr~(aq) + I_2~(aq)

Is it true that we always see the same face of the Moon.
Yes
No Maybe
Hoochie [10]

Answer: no

The moon orbits the Earth, and the Earth orbits the Sun, so we do not see the same part of the moon. We always see different parts of it.

Hope this helps you!
