Answer:  x < -5  1/2  or  x < -11/2

Step-by-step explanation:

2 ( 4x + 1 ) < 3 ( 2x - 3 )

8x + 2 < 6x - 9

8x - 6x < -9 -2

       2x < -11

         x < -11/2

         x < -5  1/2

Process:

First, we are going to distribute in the parentheses.

2(4x+1) < 3(2x-3)

8x+2 < 6x-9

Now we are going to combine the like terms. (It is easier to move smaller terms to the bigger ones)

8x+2 < 6x-9

-6x+2 < -6x-9

= 2x+2 < -9

(There are more like terms!)

2x+2 < -9

2x+9 < +9

= 2x+11 < 0

2x+11 < 0

2x-11 < -11

= 2x < -11

Lastly, divide to get 'x' by itself

2x < -11

---- < ----

2   <   2

= x < -5.5

So, 'x' is less than -5.5.

Hope this helped:)

A recipe requires 2.5 teaspoons of sugar to make a candy bar. Which equation shows the number of teaspoons of sugar, y, needed t
noname [10]

Answer:

2.5x-y=0

Step-by-step explanation:

You will have to understand this question before solving

According to the question 2.5 teaspoon of sugar is required for making one candy

Then y teaspoon of sugar is required to make y candy

Let's start

2.5 sugar=1 candy

y sugar=x candy

Let's cross multiply

y=2.5×x

y=2.5x

Which can also be written as

2.5x-y=0

Therefore the final answer is 2.5x-y=0

Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

A or the 1st one

Step-by-step explanation:

Angelo is making 9 dollars per hour but, loses 2 dollars due to the bus fee. So in math form that would be:

9x - 2

And the second part is Tom makes 8 dollars per hour but doesn't have to pay for bus fee. In math form that would be;

8x

So put that together that would be

9x - 2 = 8x

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE LITTLE QUESTION
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

y = -x +2

Step-by-step explanation:

First let's find the slope.

(-1,3) and (4,-2)

3 - -2/ -1 - 4 = 5/-5 = -1

Slope = -1

Now let's use slope intercept form:

y1-y2=m(x1-x2)

Let's plug in our slope for m.

y1-y2= -1 (x1-x2)

And now let's substitute y2 and x2 for one of our points, I'll use (4,-2)

y1+2 = -1(x1- 4)

y= -x + 4 -2

y = -x +2
