The answer is D

Because this is newton’s second law of motion or law of acceleration and this equation show that the force and the mass are directly proportional so when the mass increases the force also increases. Please like my answer :)

Answer:

D. It takes more force to move something that has more mass.

Explanation:

In the equation force and mass are directly related, so more mass means more force needed.

Think about this, you are applying 10 N force to move a car vs a tiny box. Which will move faster? From your experience, you know that light things move faster thus your box will move faster than car. Thus, to move something like car you will need more force.

A lightweight string is wrapped several times around the rim of a small hoop. If the free end of the string is held in place and
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let T be the tension

For linear motion of hoop downwards

mg -T = ma , m is mass of the hoop . a is linear acceleration of CG of hoop .

For rotational motion of hoop

Torque by tension

T x R ,      R is radius of hoop.

Angular acceleration be α,

Linear acceleration a = α R

So TR = I  α

= I  a / R

a = TR² / I

Putting this value in earlier relation

mg -T = m TR² / I

mg = T ( 1 + m R² / I )

T = mg / ( 1 + m R² / I )

mg / ( 1 + R² / k² )

Tension is less than mg or weight because denominator of the expression is more than 1.

Potential energy , Kinetic energy

<h3 /><h3>What is kinetic energy and potential energy?</h3>

Kinetic energy is a form of energy that posses by an object due to its motion. If work, which transfers energy, is done on an object by applying a net force, the object speeds up and thereby gains kinetic energy.

Potential energy is the energy held by an object due to its position relative to other objects, stresses within itself, its electric charge, or other factors.

According to given condition,

At first,

When a ball is at the top of a hill , it posses a potential energy because the ball is at some height from the surface  where  the energy held by ball is due to its position.

That is why,  a ball at the top of a hill is an example of Potential energy.

Secondly,

When a ball is rolling down the hill , it posses kinetic energy because the ball have some energy that posses by an object due to its motion.

That is why, a ball rolling down the hill is an example of  Kinetic energy.
