The scalar reading during the process is 170. 5 Newton

<h3>How to determine the scalar reading</h3>

force = mass × acceleration

Given the mass = 55kg

In finding the acceleration, use the first equation of motion

v = u + at

u = 0

t = 2s

v = 6.5 m/s

Substitute the values

6.5 = 0 + 2a, make 'a' the subject

a = 6. 5÷ 2 = 3. 1 m/s²

Substitute the value of 'm' and 'a' in the original equation

F = 55× 3.1 = 170. 5 Newton

Hence, the scalar reading during the process is 170. 5 Newton

Explain the following behaviour of molecules water rises up in a harrow tubes but mercury which is also a liquid falls in a narr
Mandarinka [93]

Answer: find the answer in the explanation

Explanation:

The capillarity of water molecules is different from the mercury molecules.

What is capillarity ?

This is the tendency of a liquid substance to rise in a capillary tube.

Molecules water rises up in a harrow tubes because of the force of adhesion between the water molecules and the tube molecules is greater than the force of cohesion between the water molecules. This helps water to wet the tube and rise. While mercury which is also a liquid falls in a narrow tubes to level below the outside surface because the force of cohesion between the mercury molecules is greater than the force of adhesion between the mercury molecules and the tube molecules. Mercury does not wet.

4. An object moves in a circular path at a constant speed. Compare the direction of the object’s velocity and acceleration vecto
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

Option C

The vectors are perpendicular

Explanation:

Acceleration will be directed towards the center for uniform circular motion. Consequently, velocity of the object increases hence acceleration. The direction of velocity is tangent to its circular motion, therefore, tangential velocity vector is perpendicular to centripetal acceleration vector. Therefore, comparing the direction of the object, the vectors are perpendicular to each other.

Suppose you have a pendulum clock which keeps correct time on Earth(acceleration due to gravity = 1.6 m/s2). For ever hour inter
kaheart [24]

The moon clock is A) (9.8/1.6)h compared to 1 hour on Earth

Explanation:

The period of a simple pendulum is given by the equation

T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}

where

L is the length of the pendulum

g is the acceleration of gravity

In this problem, we want to compare the period of the pendulum on Earth with its period on the Moon. The period of the pendulum on Earth is

T_e=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g_e}}

where

g_e = 9.8 m/s^2 is the acceleration of gravity on Earth

The period of the pendulum on the Moon is

T_m=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g_m}}

where

g_m = 1.6 m/s^2 is the acceleration of gravity on the Moon

Calculating the ratio of the period on the Moon to the period on the Earth, we find

\frac{T_m}{T_e}=\frac{g_e}{g_m}=\frac{9.8}{1.6}

Therefore, for every hour interval on Earth, the Moon clock will display a time of

A) (9.8/1.6)h
