The tension in the rope B is determined as 10.9 N.

<h3>Vertical angle of cable B</h3>

tanθ = (6 - 4)/(5 - 0)

tan θ = (2)/(5)

tan θ = 0.4

θ = arc tan(0.4) = 21.8 ⁰

<h3>Angle between B and C</h3>

θ = 21.8 ⁰ + 21.8 ⁰ = 43.6⁰

Apply cosine rule to determine the tension in rope B;

A² = B² + C² - 2BC(cos A)

B = C

A² = B² + B² - (2B²)(cos A)

A² = 2B² - 2B²(cos 43.6)

A² = 0.55B²

B² = A²/0.55

B² = 65.3/0.55

B² = 118.73

B = √(118.73)

B = 10.9 N

Thus, the tension in the rope B is determined as 10.9 N.

1.) A stone falls from rest from the top of a cliff.
KengaRu [80]

Answer:

Explanation:

ignore air resistance

Let t be the time of fall for the dropped stone.

½(9.8)t² = 43.12(t - 2.2) + ½(9.8)(t - 2.2)²

4.9t² = 43.12t - 94.864 + 4.9(t² - 4.4t + 4.84)

4.9t² = 43.12t - 94.864 + 4.9t² - 21.56t + 23.716

     0 = 21.56t - 71.148

t = 71.148/21.56 = 3.3 s

h = ½(9.8)3.3² = 53.361 = 53 m

or

h = 43.12(3.3 - 2.2) + ½(9.8)(3.3 - 2.2)² = 53.361 = 53 m

A sphere 5 cm in diameter has a small scratch on its surface. When the scratch is viewed through the glass from a position direc
Molodets [167]

Answer

given,

diameter of sphere = 5 cm

radius of sphere = -2.5 cm

refractive index for glass n₁ = 1.5

refractive index for air n₂ = 1

magnification of the glass = ?

now,

\dfrac{n_1}{S} +\dfrac{n_2}{S'}= \dfrac{n_2-n_1}{R}

\dfrac{1.5}{5} +\dfrac{1}{S'}= \dfrac{1-1.5}{-2.5}

\dfrac{1.5}{5} +\dfrac{1}{S'}= \dfrac{0.5}{-2.5}

                  S' = - 10 cm

magnification

 m = \dfrac{-n_1S'}{n_2S}

 m = \dfrac{-1.5\times -10}{1\times 5}

 m = + 3

The voltage across a 5-uF capacitor is: v (t )equals 10 cos open parentheses 6000 t close parentheses space straight V. What is
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

- 0.3sin6000t A

Explanation:

Voltage, v = 10 cos 6000t V

Capacitance = 5-uF

Current flowing through, i(t)

i(t) = c * d/dt (V)

c = 5-uF = 5 * 10^-6 F

i(t) = (5 * 10^-6) * d/dt(10 cos 6000t)

d/dt(10 cos 6000t) = (10 * 6000) * (-sin 6000t)

Hence,

i(t) = (5*10^-6) * (10*6000) * (-sin 6000t)

i(t) = 5*10^-6 * 6*10^4 * - sin6000t

i(t) = 30 * 10^-2 * - sin6000t

i(t) = 0.3*-sin6000t

i(t) = - 0.3sin6000t Ampere
