Please help! Which is the solution set of the following inequality?

Mathematics
1 answer:
Ira Lisetskai [31]2 years ago
5 0

Answer:

x<3

Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 4 < 17 - 4x

So, the -4 shall cross to the other side and replace the -4x which will now take the place of where the -4 used to be and the signs of both digits will change to a positive (+)

Remember the inequality sign (<) shall not change

so now the equation shall appear like this;

3x + 4x < 17 + 4

add both sides and it will appear like this;

7x < 21

simplify both sides by 7 and you'll get

x < 3

Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

Sanjay calculation of Train speed is more than Marcus calculation of Train speed

Step-by-step explanation:

Given in question as

Marcus want to calculate Train speed , covering distance of 0.5 mile in 6 min

Now as we know that Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

Let take this as S1 = \frac{D1}{T1}

                           S1 = \frac{0.5}{6} mile per min

                           S1 = \frac{60}{12} mile per hour

                            Note 1 hour = 60 min

                           So, S1 = 5 mile per hour

Now ,  Sanjay want to calculate the Train speed , covering distance of 6 mile in 0.5 hour

Let take   S2 = \frac{SD2}{T2}

                S2 = \frac{6}{0.5}

                S2 = 12 mile per hour

Hence We can say that Sanjay calculate  more Train speed than Marcus .

jackie has one piece of fabric measured 3/4 yard. she cut the fabric into 3/8 yard pieces. how many pieces of fabric does jackie
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

2 pieces of 3/8 yard.

Step-by-step explanation:

They tell us that originally the fabric measures 3/4 of a yard and then it is cut and remains pieces of 3/8 of a yard, so we must know how many pieces could have been cut so that they will be this size, therefore we must divide:

3/4 / (3/8) = 2

Which means there are 2 pieces of 3/8 yard.
