Find the unknown digit to make each statement true
3.59 > 3.5 1 >3.572
Softa [21]

We are given statement 3.59 > 3.5__1 >3.572.

We have a blank space in between 5 and 1 in the middle number given.

Given statement ccan be read as :

3.59 is greater than 3.5__1 is greater than 3.572.

So, we need to check a number that is less than 3.59 but less than 3.572.

The hundredth place of 3.59 number is 9 and

hundredth place of 3.572 number is 7.

So, we need to find a number between 7 and 9.

8 is the number in between 7 and 9.

So, the known digit can be replaced by 8 to make the statement true.

And final statement is 3.59 > 3.581 >3.572.

How would you calculate 7x + 1=68 with only one variable? (Working please)
Tanya [424]
Well if you're solving for x this would be rather simple. 7x +1=68 , then you'd minus 1 from both sides. 7x = 67 then divide 67 by 7. The answer isn't a whole number so x would either be 67/7 or 9.57.. etc.

i have 9/10 of a yard of fabric. it takes 2/7 of a yard to make a pillow how many pillows can i make and how much fabric is left
kumpel [21]

First I always gather the known information..

So we know you have 9/10 yards of fabric... and that you need 2/7 to make 1 pillow.

The way we can figure out how many you can make is by dividing 9/10 by 2/7....

3.15 is your answer but of course we cannot make 3.15 pillows so your answer should be rounded to 3 :)

You can make 3 pillows out of 9/10 yd of fabric

hope this helped ya

(a) The position of a particle at time t is s(t) = t^3 + t. Compute the average velocity over the time interval [7, 12].(b) Esti
ryzh [129]

Answer:

a) Average velocity = 278 units

b) Instantaneous velocity at t = 7 seconds is 148 units

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Average velocity is the ratio of displacement to time.

   We have

              s(t) = t³ + t

    t is in between 7 and 12

             s(7) =  7³ + 7 = 350

              s(12) = 12³ + 12 = 1740

    Displacement = 1740 - 350 = 1390

   Time = 12 - 7 = 5

  Displacement = Average velocity x time

  1390 = Average velocity x 5

  Average velocity = 278 units

b) s(t) = t³ + t

   Differentiating

         v(t) = 3t² + 1

  At t = 7

          v(t) = 3 x 7² + 1 = 148 units

  Instantaneous velocity at t = 7 seconds is 148 units
