The directions that are likely to result in a warmer earth are the directions 3, 5 and 6.

<h3>What is global warming?</h3>

The term global warming has to do with the gradual rise in the temperature of the earth as a result of the re-radiation of infrared rays back to the earth. We know that greenhouse gases are able to trap the infrared rays from the sun and reradiate same to the surface of the earth and this ultimately leads to a warmer earth.

As such, if we look at the image closely, we can see that there is a reradiation of the rays to the earth in the directions 3, 5 and 6. It then follows that the directions that are likely to result in a warmer earth are the directions 3, 5 and 6.

How are a flashlight and lightening similar and how are they different?
grandymaker [24]
<span>A flashlight is an electric-powered light source; the light source is a light bulb or an LED. The electrical energy is converted into visible light. Flashlights can be hand-held or mounted to a platform. Light from a lighting, on the other hand, is formed by exciting electrons to a higher state. </span>

Which element is used in light bulbs as a filament
mojhsa [17]
<span>The element that is used in light bulbs as a filament is tungsten - this is almost always the case in halogen and incandescent bulbs. Tungsten is chosen for this purpose because of the fact it can withstand temperatures of up to 4,500 degrees, as well as being incredibly flexible.</span>

A compound has a molecular weight of 146 g/mol. A 0.3250 g sample of the compound contains 0.1605 g of carbon, 0.0220 g of hydro
Sonbull [250]

Answer: The molecular formula is C_6H_{10}S_2

Explanation:

We are given:

Mass of C = 0.1605 g

Mass of H= 0.0220 g

mass of S = 0.1425 g

Step 1 : convert given masses into moles.

Moles of C =\frac{\text{ given mass of C}}{\text{ molar mass of C}}= \frac{0.1605g}{12g/mole}=0.0134moles

Moles of H =\frac{\text{ given mass of H}}{\text{ molar mass of H}}= \frac{0.0220g}{1g/mole}=0.0220moles

Moles of S =\frac{\text{ given mass of S}}{\text{ molar mass of S}}= \frac{0.1425g}{32g/mole}=0.0044moles

Step 2 : For the mole ratio, divide each value of moles by the smallest number of moles calculated.

For C = \frac{0.0134}{0.0044}=3

For H = \frac{0.0220}{0.0044}=5

For S =\frac{0.0044}{0.0044}=1

The ratio of C : H: S=  3: 5: 1

Hence the empirical formula is C_3H_5S

The empirical weight of C_3H_5S = 3(12)+5(1)+1(32)= 73g.

The molecular weight = 146 g/mole

Now we have to calculate the molecular formula.

n=\frac{\text{Molecular weight }}{\text{Equivalent weight}}=\frac{146}{73}=2

The molecular formula will be=2\times C_3H_5S=C_6H_{10}S_2

Consider a balloon of nitrogen gas and a crystal of sugar sitting on a table at room conditions. Select the appropriate statemen
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

about the same

Explanation:

Thermal energy is constant at a certain temperature in general. The energy is denoted by K_BT

Where,

K_B is the Boltzmann constant

T is the absolute temperature

Given that the balloon filled with nitrogen gas and the crystal of sugar are at room conditions means that they have same conditions and thus they will possess same energy irrespective of the states of the matter.

Thus,

The thermal energy of the sugar molecules is <u>about the same</u> as that of nitrogen molecules.
