John Daum and Chris Yin are star swimmers at a local college. They are preparing to compete at the NCAA Division II national cha

mpionship meet, where they both have a good shot at earning a medal in the men’s 100-meter freestyle event. The coach feels that Chris is not as consistent as John, even though they clock about the same average time. In order to determine if the coach’s concern is valid, you clock their time in the last 9 runs and compute a standard deviation of 0.93 seconds for John and 1.08 seconds for Chris. It is fair to assume that clock time is normally distributed for both John and Chris. Let the clock time by John and Chris represent population 1 and population 2, respectively.

The value of the text statistic. F is given as : 0.742 See explanation below.

What is a test statistic?

A test statistic is a numerical value determined by a statistical test.

It quantifies the distance between your observed data and the null hypothesis of no link between variables or no difference between sample groups.

What is the solution to the answer above?

Test Statistic F is given by:

= σ²₁/σ²₂

= 0.93²/1.08²

= (0.93/1.08)²

= 0.8611²

= 0.742

Elza [17]

Answer:

The sixth number in series is 13.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given series : 3, -6, 12, 4, 20, ?

The pattern followed by the series is:

The first number = 3

Second number = 3 - 9 = - 6

Third number = - 6 + (9 ×2) = -6 + 18 = 12

Fourth number = 12 - 8 = 4

Fifth number = 4 + (8 ×2) = 20

Sixth number = 20 - 7 = 13

Seventh number = 13 + (7 ×2) = 13 + 14 = 27 and so on.

So as per the above pattern, the sixth number in the series is 13.
