Which of the following correctly shows a synthesis reaction involving potassium?
algol13

Answer:

B. 4 K + O₂ → 2 K₂O

Explanation:

Which of the following correctly shows a synthesis reaction involving potassium?

A. Br₂ + 2 KI → I₂ + 2 KBr

No, this is a single displacement reaction, in which Br displaces I from its salt.

B. 4 K + O₂ → 2 K₂O

Yes, this is a synthesis reaction, in which 2 elements combine to form a compound.

C. 2 KClO₃ → 2 KCl + 3 O₂

No, this is a decomposition reaction, in which a big substance decomposes into smaller ones.

D. 2 K₂O → 4K + O₂

No, this is a decomposition reaction, in which a big substance decomposes into smaller ones.

A teacher has asked some groups of students to investigate the relationship between the organ systems of the human body. One gro
liberstina [14]

Answer: The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients that are transported by the circulatory system.

Explanation:

An organ system includes the organs which are linked to one another to perform a physiological function in the body of the organism. The digestion is a complex process in which the food is being broken down into sub-components so that it can be assimilated in the body. The digestive system involves the multiple organs like mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines and others. The food being digested is absorbed in the bloodstream, which circulate in the vital organs of the body like lungs, heart, vascular system hence, the blood becomes the part of the circulatory system.

Thus it can be said that the argument of children that the two systems are related is justified by the digestive and circulatory system of the body.

How many grams of copper will be plated out by a current of 2.3 a applied for 35 minutes to a 0.50 m solution of copper (ii) sul
kumpel [21]
When the magnitude of the charge Q = I*T

when we have I current = 2.3

and T = 35 min * 60 = 2100 s

by substitution:

∴ Q = 2.3 * 2100

       = 4830 C

according to this reaction equation:

Cu2+ + 2e- → Cu

we can see that 1 mol Cu2+ need 2 mol e- to produce Cu

mol of electron e- = Q / faraday's constant

                          = 4830 / 96485

                          = 0.05 mol

when 1 mol Cu2+ → 2 mol e-

                 ?? ← 0.05 mol

∴ moles Cu2+ = 0.05 /2 = 0.025 mol

∴ mass Cu2+ = moles Cu2+ * molar mass Cu2+

                       = 0.025 * 64

                      = 1.6 g

Label each of the descriptions below as theoretical
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

Before performing chemical reactions, it is helpful to know how much product will be produced with given quantities of reactants. This is known as the theoretical yield. This is a strategy to use when calculating the theoretical yield of a chemical reaction. The same strategy can be applied to determine the amount of each reagent needed to produce a desired amount of product.

Explanation:

Reagent Examples

Reagents may be compounds or mixtures. In organic chemistry, most are small organic molecules or inorganic compounds. Examples of reagents include Grignard reagent, Tollens' reagent, Fehling's reagent, Collins reagent, and Fenton's reagent. However, a substance may be used as a reagent without having the word in its name.

An atom has 25 protons, 30 neutrons, and 25 electrons. What is the charge of the nucleus?
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

25

Explanation:

With Protons being the only charged particles in the nucleus, their overall charge is zero. This is because electrons and protons have opposite charges. The nuclear charge of ANY atom is given by its atomic number.
