The statement that best describes Georgia’s Barrier Islands is; A: They protect the coastline during storms.

What is the correct statement about the place?

Barrier islands are called “barrier islands” due to the fact that they are good means of creating barrier between the mainland and the ocean.

Now, these barrier islands tend to shelter and protect the mainland from the powerful forces of wind, waves, and other natural disasters. This they do by;

 • Sheltering the estuaries that form behind the barriers.
 • Allowing marshes to build up in the quiet waters of the sound.
 • Filtering of the pollutants that come in from mainland rivers by the marshes.
 • Providing valuable habitats for water animals and others in that ecosystem.
 • Serve aesthetic purposes

Barrier islands are a very much valuable resource. Despite the fact that they constantly change and may become badly eroded, they can still rebuild if left alone.

Thus, we can conclude that statement best describes Georgia’s Barrier Islands is that they protect the coastline during storms.

Answer:

 • $3.50
 • 24

Step-by-step explanation:

The graph shows you the value stored on the card dropped by $14 when Gina rented 4 videos. Thus the cost of each one is ...

... $14/4 = $3.50

Gina now has $84 on the card, so can rent an additional ...

... $84/$3.50 = 24 . . . . videos

_____

Division is a way to do "repeated subtraction." That is, if we were to subtract $3.50 from $84 repeatedly, we would find we could do it 24 times.

THE 5 IDENTICAL SHELVES WOULD have to be 76 because if you take 400 - 20 (because that left over) you get 380/5 you get 76 and to check your work you do 5x76=380+20 you get 400 so 76 is you answer

Dmitrij [34]
The slope of the first equation has a slope of one and a y intercept of -4. The second equation has a y intercept of -2.3333 as seen when plugging in 0 for x, so the same y-intercept and same line are out of the question. This means either they have the same slope and thus are parallel or intersect at some point. A simple way to find out? Plug in 1 for x on the second. If it isn't -1.33333, which is a slope of positive 1 such as in the first equation, they WILL INTERSECT somewhere. When plugging in 1, we get
3y - 1 = -7
3y = -6
y = -2
(1, -2) is the next point after (0, -2.3333)
That means it is most certainly not the same slope, and thus they will intersect at some point. The two slopes are 1/1 and 1/3 if you weren't aware.
