Volume of prism = \frac{1}{2x^{3} } + x^{2}

Given that:

The oblique prism below has an isosceles right triangle base and the length of the base is x

=> the area of the base: \frac{1}{2} × x × x = \frac{1}{2}

The vertical height of the prism is (x + 2)

=> The volume of the oblique prism is:

                    V = the base area * the vertical height

<=> V = \frac{1}{2} x^{2} (x + 2)

<=> V =  \frac{1}{2x^{3} } + x^{2}

Help, I don’t understand this DeltaMath question

I can use the angle and the length of JH to find the length of IJ.

To do this, I look at the relationship IJ and JH have to the 52 degree angle. JH is opposite to angle I, and IJ is adjacent to angle I. Because the two side lengths are opposite and adjacent, I use the tangent function to solve this.

Tangent of an angle = the length of the opposite side / the length of the adjacent side. This is just another way to say tan(x)=opposite/adjacent

Now I can fill in what I know...
tan(52)=4.2/x
Now, I want to isolate x.
tan(52) = 4.2/x
x(tan(52))=4.2
x=4.2/tan(52)

Now I put 4.2/tan(52) into a calculator and get x = 3.3 ft

Hope this helps!

Need help on graphing problem
aivan3 [116]
J is your answer.

Slope is rise over run + your Y intercept.

Your y- intercept is the point in the graph in which the line passes through, the line passes through -2, so you know -2 is going to be your answer at the end. And slope is rise/run.

From one point to another, you rise 1 time , and run over 3 so you know your answer is

y = 1/3x - 2

hope this helps :)

Find in degrees.<br> 11<br> B<br> 6<br> [?]°<br> Round to the nearest hundredth.<br> Enter
avanturin [10]

Answer:

\beta  = 28.610

Step-by-step explanation:

in this case we have a right angled triangle, whenever you see this triangle think of the TRIG RATIOS * sin, cos & tan* but if it was another triangle besides right angled triangle you use SINE RULE OR COSINE RULE

SOLUTION

\tan( \beta )  =  \frac{opposite}{adjecent}  \\  \tan( \beta )  =  \frac{6}{11}  \\  \beta  =  tan(inverse)( \frac{6}{11} ) \\  \beta  = 28.61045
