Main Answer:

Given data:

Mass of ice m = 12 grams = 12/1000 = 0.012 kg

Specific heat  s = 4.18 KJ/ gm-1 C-1

Change in temperature t = t2 - t1

t = 100 - (-10)

t = 100 + 10 = 110C

Heat required Q = m x s x t

Q = 0.012 x 4.18 x 110

Q = 5.5176 KJ

Explanation:

What is heat?

Heat is defined as one of the forms of energy. It is a kinetic energy which can be transferred from one object to another object or medium. It cannot be destroyed or created. The units of heat is Joules in SI system and calories in CGS system.

AgNO3(aq)+Na3PO4(aq) ionic equation
Leno4ka [110]
All species are "(aq)" unless marked otherwise:

molecular: Na3PO4 + 3 AgNO3 → Ag3PO4(s) + 3 NaNO3
total ionic: 3 Na{+} + PO4{3-} + 3 Ag{+} + 3 NO3{-} → Ag3PO4(s) + 3 Na{+} + 3 NO3{-}
net ionic: PO4{3-} + 3 Ag{+} → Ag3PO4(s)

K2SO4(aq)+Na2CO3(aq) no reaction

molecular: Pb(NO3)2 + Na2CO3 → PbCO3(s) + 2 NaNO3
total ionic: Pb{2+} + 2 NO3{-} + 2 Na{+} + CO3{2-} → PbCO3(s) + 2 Na{+} + 2 NO3{-}
net ionic: Pb{2+} + CO3{2-} → PbCO3(s)

molecular: BaCl2 + 2 KOH → Ba(OH)2(s) + 2 KCl
total ionic: Ba{2+} + 2 Cl{-} + 2 K{+} + 2 OH{-} → Ba(OH)2(s) + 2 K{+} + 2 Cl{-}
net ionic: Ba{2+} + 2 OH{-} → Ba(OH)2(s)

What is the measure of how likely an atom is to react with another element
GarryVolchara [31]
When nonmetal atoms with differing electronegativities react, they form molecules with polar covalent bonds. Each element has an electronegativity value, which is a measure of the ability of an atom to attract and share electron pairs of another atom. Are you looking for the electronegativity value? I think this is correct

write a chemical equation for the ionization of water. how do you indicate that this is a reversible action?
LiRa [457]

H₂O + H₂O ⇌ H₃O⁺ + OH⁻

You use two single-barbed arrows pointing in opposite directions (technically rightwards harpoon over leftwards harpoon) <em>to indicate a reversible reactio</em>n.
