I’m just assuming this but I think it’s 64.4 because I think all of the subtraction are taken away by 38 so I just took 102.4-38

Tell whether the angles are adjacent or vertical. Then find the value of x.
lozanna [386]

Answer:

x = 25

Step-by-step explanation:

The angles are vertical since they form from two lines crossing at a point and they share a same vertex.

Vertical angles are equal so

4x - 25 = 75

4x = 100

x = 25

Passes through (1,12) and has a vertex (10,-4)
agasfer [191]

Answer: 16/81 (x-10)^2 -4

Step-by-step explanation:

To write a vertex equation with just a point and the vertex, you have to figure out the variables.

In vertex form, the equation is y = a (x-h)^2 + k

Your y is 12, x = 1, h = 10, and k = -4

Plug everything into equation

12 = a (1 - 10)^2 -4

12 = a (-9)^2 - 4

12 = 81a - 4

16 = 81a

16/81 = a

Now you know what the 'a' value is.

If you graph 16/81 (x-10)^2 -4 , you will get a point at (1,12) and a vertex of (10,-4)!

I hope this helps!

The remainder after diving x^4+3x^3-8x^2+5x-9 by x+5 is ____.
raketka [301]

Use the polynomial remainder theorem. It says that a polynomial f(x) has remainder f(c) upon division by x-c.

Here we have

f(x)=x^4+3x^3-8x^2+5x-9

and c=-5, so the remainder is

f(-5)=(-5)^4+3(-5)^3-8(-5)^2+5(-5)-9=\boxed{16}

Daniella is interviewing for a job. She wants her take-home pay to be at least $51,000
Lilit [14]
Okay. So Daniella wants to have a take-home pay of at least $51,000, but she ahs to pay 15% income tax, which means 15% of what she earns will be gone. To find out the least amont of salary she needs to make, we can write and solve a proportion. Set it up like this:

51,000/x = 85/100

This is because we are looking for the amount of money made overall, but the $51,000 is only part of the salary earned, and even though you pay 15% income tax, you still take home 85% of your salary. Cross multiply the valyes in order to get 5,100,000 = 85x. Divide each side by 85 to isolate the variable. 5,100,000/85 is 60,000. Let's check this by multiplying by 85% (0.85). 60,000 * 0.85 is 51,000. There. x = 60,000. Daniella will need to make at least $60,000.
