Actinomycin is used only in research applications or cancer treatment because it is active against both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

How does actinomycin work?

 • Actinomycin D inhibits RNA synthesis in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells thus blocking transcription.
 • Actinomycin was first isolated from Streptomyces antibioticus.
 • These bind to the DNA at the site of transcription initiation complex and prevent the activity of DNA dependent RNA polymerase.
 • By blocking the metabolic machinery of cells (RNA synthesis), actinomycin prevents the growth of cells. Therefore used in cancer treatment to prevent uncontrolled proliferation of cells.
 • As it can also act on eukaryotic cells so it is not used as an antimicrobial drug as it can harm the cells of our body.
 • However it can be used in research to prevent microbial growth in petri plates.

Assess one strength and one weakness with respect to your overall physical fitness. State a long-term goal to address the weakne
Lesechka [4]

Hi. This question requires a personal answer where you must assess your own physical fitness to answer it. However, I hope the answer below can help you.

My biggest weakness regarding my physical fitness is the inconsistency in the frequency at which I exercise. This prevents me from creating a constant and efficient physical fitness and makes it impossible for me to have the stamina to perform some simple tasks that require physical effort. My strength in terms of fitness is that I am able to stay in an activity for a long time and I know this would be strengthened if I stimulated my fitness with regular exercise.

To reduce my weakness I would use internal Benchmarking. For this, I would form a group of friends who need to practice exercises and would establish an exercise schedule, where each friend would encourage the other to practice the exercises at the right time. My goal with this is to be able to exercise three times a week, every week, until the end of next year.

It is important to emphasize that Benchmarking is the process developed to establish improvements in some areas, company or event and Internal Benchmarking is the one that seeks this improvement within the resources that the individual who needs to be improved already has.

How is the multidisciplinary approach in healthcare cost effective for patients
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

Multidisciplinary approach is very helpful in healthcare cost effective for the patient because they search every area before giving the actual treatment to the patient.

Explanation:

They find out the very effective way which is economical to the patient for his treatment. Some organizations also give the patient options about the treatment and their cost.

Hence the patient is himself responsible for the cost he will pay to the organization. This also affects the mental state of patient in a positive way and it also helps in his cure and recovery.
