Step-by-step explanation:

since the sumation of f(x) of a probability is 1

thw probability to win is o.5 and to lose is o.5 so expected value is xf(x

your expected value will b 0.5 multiply by 5 thats is 2.5 thats your expected gain

Two glasses of milk and three snack bars have a total of 72 carbs. and 4 glasses of milk and 2 snack bars have a total of 88 car
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

one glass of milk = 15 carbs

one bar = 14 carbs

Step-by-step explanation:

let 'm' = one glass of milk

let 'b' = one snack bar

system of equations:

2m + 3b = 72

4m + 2b = 88

I used the elimination method and multiplied the 1st equation by -2

  -4m - 6b = -144

+  <u>4m + 2b =  88</u>

           -4b = -56

              b = 14

now solve for 'm'

2m + 3(14) = 72

2m + 42 = 72

2m = 30

m = 15

chase and sara went to the candy store. chase bought 5 pieces of fudge and 3 pieces of gum for 5.70. sara bought 2 pieces of fud
Vilka [71]
Let, the cost of 1 piece of fudge = x
Cost of a gum = y

System of equations: 5x + 3y = 5.70
2x + 10y = 3.60

Multiply 1st equation by 2, and second by 5,
New equations: 10x + 6y = 11.40
10x + 50y = 18

Now, subtract 1st from 2nd,
44y = 6.60
y = 6.60 / 44
y = 0.15

Substitute it in second equation,
2x + 10(0.15) = 3.60
2x = 3.60 - 1.5
x = 2.10 / 2
x = 1.05

In short, Cost of a Fudge = $1.05 & Cost of a gum = $0.15

Hope this helps!

Show step by step......
tankabanditka [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Amount paid for first 100 watches = (65% of 80) *100

                                                        =\frac{65}{100}*80*100\\\\= 65*80\\= 5200

Amount paid for next 50 watches = (55% of 80) * 50

                                                        = \frac{55}{100}*80*50\\\\= 55 * 8 * 5\\\\= 2200

Remaining watches = 280 -(100+ 55)

                                 = 280 - 155 = 125

Amount paid for 125 watches = (45% of 80) *125

                                                  = \frac{45}{100}*80*125\\\\= 45 * 20 * 5\\\\= 4500

Amount received by the watch maker = 5200 + 2200 + 4500

                                                               = £ 11900
