Allison went to the grocery store and bought bottles of soda and bottles of juice. Each bottle of soda has 45 grams of sugar and

each bottle of juice has 20 grams of sugar. Allison purchased a total of 11 bottles of juice and soda which collectively contain 445 grams of sugar. Write a system of equations that could be used to determine the number of bottles of soda purchased and the number of bottles of juice purchased. Define the variables that you use to write the system.

Using a system of equations, it is found that Allison bought 2 bottles of juice and 9 bottles of soda.

What is a system of equations?

A system of equations is when two or more variables are related, and equations are built to find the values of each variable.

For this problem, the variables are:

 • Variable x: bottles of juice purchased.
 • Variable y: bottles of soda purchased.

Allison purchased a total of 11 bottles of juice, hence:

x + y = 11 -> x = 11 - y.

These 11 bottles contain 445 grams of sugar, hence, considering the amounts of each bottle, we have that:

20x + 45y = 445

Since x = 11 - y:

20(11 - y) + 45y = 445

25y = 225

y = 225/25

y = 9.

x = 11 - y = 11 - 9 = 2.

She bought 2 bottles of juice and 9 bottles of soda.

Look at the circle you created that has point C (the midpoint of AB) as its center and passes through point A. What can you say
Mice21 [21]

The inscribed angle on the circumference of the circle subtended by the diameter at the center is a right angle

What can be said about segment AB is; Segment AB is the diameter of circle with midpoint at C

What can be said about angle BDA is; Angle BDA is an inscribed angle of the circle with midpoint at C, subtended by the diameter AB at the center

The measure of angle BDA is 90°

What can be said about angle BEA is; Angle BEA is an inscribed angle of the circle with midpoint at C, subtended by the diameter AB at the center

The measure of angle BEA is 90°

The given diagram shows;

Circle with midpoint C, along AB, and radius AC

The diameter of circle C = AB

Circle with midpoint A, intersecting with circle C at points D and E

Tangents from point B on circle, C, intersect with circle A at points D and E

Required parameters;

 • What can be said about AB

The segment AB is a line that intersects the circle C at two points and also passes through the the point C which is the center of the circle C

Therefore, the segment AB is the diameter of the circle with center at C

 • What can be said about angle BDA

The angle BDA is the inscribed angle of circle C subtended by the points A and B which specifies the diameter of the circle with midpoint C

Therefore, the angle BDA is subtended by the diameter of the circle at the center

According to circle theorem, we have;

Angle subtended at the center = 2 × The angle subtended at the circumference

The angle subtended at the center by the diameter AB = 180° (Angle on a straight line)

Therefore;

The angle subtended at the center = 180° = 2 × Angle BDA

Angle BDA = 180°/2 = 90°

Angle BDA = 90°

 • What can be said about angle BEA

Similarly, we have;

The angle subtended at the center = 180° = 2 × Angle BEA

Angle BEA = 180°/2 = 90°

Angle BEA = 90°

State whether the following statements are true or false, and explain your reasoning.
Masja [62]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a) A square is a rectangle. True

Reason: Property of Rectangle: (i) Opposite sides are equal and parallel. (ii) Each angle is 90 (iii) Diagonals are equal and bisect each other.

A square hold all these properties. A square is a rectangle.

b) A polygon with 21 sides has 432 possible diagonals. False

Reason: Number of diagonals of a polygon = \frac{n(n-3)}{2}

n --> number of sides of a polygon.

= \frac{21*18}{2} = 189 diagonals

c) All three angles in an Isosceles triangle are equal. False

Reason: In an isosceles triangle, two angles are equal.

If three angles are equal, then that is an equilateral triangle.

d) The measures of the exterior angles of a nonagon, a nine-sided figure, have a sum of 360°. True.

Reason: The sum of measures of the exterior angles of any polygon is 360

butalik [34]

Hey there!

Mode is basically the number you see more than once,

64, 72, 74, 68, 70, 68, 68, 75, 44\\ \\ Mode: 68

Your answer would be: 68 because it appeared approximately 3 times in this data set

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
