Answer:

y = - \frac{1}{2} x + 7

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate m using the slope formula

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (8, 3 ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 4, 9 )

m = \frac{9-3}{-4-8} = \frac{6}{-12} = - \frac{1}{2} , then

y = - \frac{1}{2} x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

using (- 4, 9 ) , then

9 = 2 + c ⇒ c = 9 - 2 = 7

y = - \frac{1}{2} x + 7 ← equation of line

Select the correct graph of −4x + 3y = 6. (1 point)
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

Line\ passing\ through\ (-1.5,0)\ and\ (0,2).\\\\Correct\ graph\ is\ attached.

Step-by-step explanation:

The\ given\ equation\ represents\ a\ line\\\\

y-intercept:

Substitute\ x=0\\\\-4\times 0+3y=6\\\\3y=6\\\\y=\frac{6}{3}\\\\y=2\\\\The\ line\ passes\ through\ the\ point\ (0,2).

x-intercept:

Substitute\ y=0\\\\-4x+3\times 0=6\\\\-4x=6\\\\x=-\frac{6}{4}\\\\x=-1.5\\\\The\ line\ passes\ through\ the\ point\ (-1.5,0).

The correct graph is attached.

Which is the graph of the linear equality 2x-3y<12
Aloiza [94]
2x - 3y < 12
-3y < -2x + 12...change the inequality sign because ur dividing by a negative number
y > 2/3x - 4

u have a slope of 2/3.....u have a y intercept of -4 or (0,-4)

to find the x int, sub in 0 for y and solve for x....disregard the inequality sign ....
y = 2/3x - 4
0 = 2/3x - 4
-2/3x = -4
x = -4 / (-2/3)
x = -4 * -3/2
x = 12/6
x = 2......and ur x int is 2 or (2,0)

so go ahead and plot ur intercepts (0,-4) and (2,0)....so start at (0,-4)...and since u have a slope of 2/3......go up 2 spaces and to the right 3 spaces...plot that point....then up 2 and to the right 3...plot that point...keep doing this and u will cross the x axis at (2,0)......now just draw a dashed line connecting ur plotted points

ur line will be a dashed line (because there is no equal sign in the problem)....ur shading will be above the line because it is greater then
