Using it's concept, the interval that contains the median number of characters is: 30 - 40.

What does the histogram shows?

The problem is incomplete, but researching it on a search engine, we have that:

 • She had 3 messages between 0 and 10 characters.
 • She had 1 message between 10 and 20 characters.
 • She had 1 message between 20 and 30 characters.
 • She had 2 messages between 30 and 40 characters.
 • She had 1 message between 60 and 70 characters.
 • She had 1 message between 100 and 120 characters.

What is the median of a data-set?

The median of the data-set separates the bottom half from the upper half, that is, it is the 50th percentile.

In this problem, we have a data-set of 9 elements, hence the median is the 5th element, as:

 • The first half is composed by the first four elements.
 • The second half is composed by the last four elements.

The fifth element of the histogram is in the interval 30-40, which is the interval that contains the median.

A food service in the mall prepares free samples of chicken to give out during dinner time. One hour later, the food service has
jeka94

The food service gave out 80 samples, which is 4 fewer than 70% of the total number of samples they prepared. Lets make x the total number of samples they prepared.

So lets write it as an equation

80 = (70% of x) -4

70% converts to a decimal by moving the decimal point 2 spaces up, so it is 0.7

80 = 0.7x-4

Add 4 to both sides of the equation

84 = 0.7x

Divide both sides by 0.7 to isolate the x

x = 120

The food service prepared 120 samples.

Find the volume for the regular pyramid.

V =
mylen [45]
The volume is given by:
V = L * Apb * h
Where,
L: side of the base
Apb: apothema of the base
h: height
Substituting we have:
V = (4) * ((root (3) / 2) * 4) * (6)
Rewriting we have:
V = (4) * ((root (3) / 2) * 4) * (6)
V = 96 * (root (3) / 2)
V = 48 * root (3)
Answer:

V = 48 * root (3)
