As per the question, a pump uses a piston of 15 cm diameter that moves at 2.0 cm/s as it pushes fluid through a pipe. The speed of the fluid when it enters a portion of the pipe that is 3.0 mm in diameter is 5000cm/sec.

The volumetric flow rate refers back to the three-dimensional area occupied by using fluid flowing thru a move section according to time. it's far the ratio of the change within the volume of a flowing fluid to the alternate in time.

According to the question, the volumetric flow rate in the pump and the pipe is the same.

Q = AV

Q = Volumetric flow rate

A = Cross-sectional area

V = Velocity

Q ( pump ) = ( π * 15^2 ) / 4 * 2 = 353.43 cm^3/sec

Q ( pipe ) = ( π * ( 3/10 )^2 ) / 4 * V = 0.071V

Q ( pump ) = Q ( pipe )

Therefore 0.071V = 353.43

Velocity (V) = 5000 cm/sec

Therefore the speed of the fluid when it enters the pipe is 5000 cm/sec.

Velocity is the directional pace of an object in movement as a demonstration of its rate of change in function as determined from a specific body of reference and as measured by way of a selected standard of time.

As 390-g of hot milk cools in a mug, it transfers 30,000 J of heat to the environment.
stiks02 [169]
Q = m.s.Δt
Δt = Q /m.s
Here, Q = 30,000 J
m = 390 g
s = 3.9 J/g C

Substitute their values,
= 30,000 / 390 *3.9
= 30,000 / 1521
= -20 C (approx.) [-ve sign 'cause temperature is decreasing ]

In short, Your Answer would be Option D

Hope this helps!

a traffic light at an intersection is hanging from two wires of equal length making angles of 10 degrees below the horitzontal.
aleksandrvk [35]

The tensions in the wires at the given angle of inclination is determined as 434.1 N.

Tension on the wire

The tension in the wires is calculated as follows;

T = Wsinθ

where;

 • T is tension in each wire
 • W is weight of the traffic light

T = 2500 x sin(10)

T = 434.1 N

Thus, the tensions in the wires at the given angle of inclination is determined as 434.1 N.
