How does the energy production in a high-mass, main-sequence star differ from energy production in the sun?

Physics

In a high-mass, main-sequence star energy produces at a faster rate by using carbon in a process that fuses hydrogen to helium.

A high mass star produces energy by the fusion of hydrogen to helium.

But in this process, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen act as catalyst to accelerate the energy generation process.

Energy burn very quickly and at a faster rate in a giant and high mass star than in a low mass star.

A star 10 x the mass of siun can live upto 20 million years whereas low mass start has greater lifespan than the present age of the universe.

Determine the angle between the directions of vector a = 3.00i 1.00j and vector b = 1.00i 3.00j .
Katena32 [7]

The angle between the two vectors is 126° 52' 11".

The given parameters;

vector A = 3.00i + 1.00j

vector B = 1.00i + 3.00j

The angle between the two vectors is calculated as follows;

cos  \theta = \frac{A.B}{|A|.|B|}

The dot product of vectors A and B is calculated as;

A.B = ( 3i + 1j ) . ( 1i +3j )

      = ( 3 × 1 ) + ( 1  × 3 )

      = 3 + 3

      = 6

The magnitude of vectors A and B is calculated as;

|A|  = \sqrt[]{3^2 + 1^2} = \sqrt[]{10} \\

|B| = \sqrt[]{1^2 + 3^2} = \sqrt[]{10} \\

The angle between in two vectors is calculated as;

Cos \theta = \frac{6}{\sqrt[]{10}\sqrt[]{10}  } \\\\Cos \theta = \frac{6}{\ 10 }\\\\Cos \theta = 0.6\\\\\theta = cos^-^1 (0.6)\\\\\theta = 126\\

Therefore, the angle between the two vectors is 126° 52' 11".

Think about the various energy sources such as the sun, fossil fuels, water, wind, and nuclear power. What is the energy source
lakkis [162]

Answer:

<em>The energy source that powers my home is gotten from burning of fossil fuels.</em>

<em>No! I do not like this energy source.</em>

<em>I personally would prefer solar source of electricity</em>

<em></em>

Explanation:

<em>Fossil fuels are fuels gotten from the decomposition of dead organisms over time, under intense heat and pressure</em>. They are usually found buried beneath the earth's crust where they have been formed and trapped.

Most electricity generating stations generate electricity by burning fossil fuels like natural gas and gasoline to generate electricity. <em>The problem with fossil fuels are the various part that they play in increasing carbon footprints in the atmosphere. The excess carbon in the atmosphere has been a major contributor to the global warming of planet Earth.  </em>

My preference for solar energy source is first due to its abundance unlike the fossil fuels that are already diminishing in storage beneath the earth's crust. Also, <em>solar energy is a clean source of energy that does not leave any damage on earth from its use</em>. It also promises to be a cheap source of power in the future with advances in solar technologies.

A 52 kg child on a swing is travelling at 6 m/s . What is his gravitational potential energy if he has 1000 J of the mechanical
DiKsa [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is "64 J".

Explanation:

The given values are:

Mass,

m = 52 kg

Velocity,

v = 6 m/s

Mechanical energy,

= 1000 J

Now,

The gravitational potential energy will be:

⇒ P.E=1000-\frac{1}{2}mv^2

           =1000-\frac{1}{2}\times 52\times (6)^2

           =1000-26\times 36

           =1000-936

           =64 \ J
