How does the energy production in a high-mass, main-sequence star differ from energy production in the sun?

Physics

In a high-mass, main-sequence star energy produces at a faster rate by using carbon in a process that fuses hydrogen to helium.

A high mass star produces energy by the fusion of hydrogen to helium.

But in this process, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen act as catalyst to accelerate the energy generation process.

Energy burn very quickly and at a faster rate in a giant and high mass star than in a low mass star.

A star 10 x the mass of siun can live upto 20 million years whereas low mass start has greater lifespan than the present age of the universe.

A 0.015 kg marble sliding to the right at 22.5 cm/s on a frictionless surface makes an elastic head-on collision with a 0.015 kg
slava [35]

Answer:

Explanation:

mass of first marble m_1=m=0.015\ kg

Initial velocity of the first marble u_1=22.5\ m/s

considering right side as positive

Mass of second marble

m_2=m=0.015\ kg\\u_2=-18\ cm/s

After collision first marble moves to the left with a velocity of 18 cm/s

i.e. v_1=-18\ cm/s

considering v_2 be the velocity of second marble after collision

The Coefficient of restitution is 1 for an elastic collision

e=\frac{v_2-v_1}{u_1-u_2}

Putting values

1=\frac{v_2-(-18)}{22.5-(-18)}\\22.5+18=v_2+18\\v_2=22.5\ m/s

So, the velocity of the second marble is 22.5 m/s to the right after the collision

(b)Initial kinetic energy =0.5\times 0.015\times (22.5\times 10^{-2})^2+0.5\times 0.015\times (18\times 10^{-2})^2=6.22\times 10^{-4}\ J

Final kinetic energy=

0.5\times 0.015\times (18\times 10^{-2})^2+0.5\times 0.015\times (22.5\times 10^{-2})^2=6.22\times 10^{-4}\ J

Calculate the energy of a photon emitted when an electron in a hydrogen atom undergoes a transition from =6 to =1.
scoundrel [369]

When an electron in a hydrogen atom transitions from the state of n=6 to n=1, a photon with an energy of 13.2 eV is released.

<h3>What components make up a photon?</h3>
  • A photon is a microscopic particle that is part of electromagnetic radiation waves.
  • Maxwell demonstrated that photons are merely electric fields flowing through space.
  • A single photon can trigger a response from sensors in the retina.
<h3>What is the difference between an electron and a photon?</h3>
  • Photons and electrons. One of the fundamental quantum-mechanical particles is an electron, although photons also exist and have entirely distinct properties.
  • While the electron is a subatomic particle found in every atom, the photon is a sort of elementary particle that serves as an energy carrier.
