The circumstance which is it appropriate to ignore a data point when drawing the best line through data to make a graph is when there is the presence of the outliers.

What is a Graph?

This is defined as the pictorial representation of data or variables in an organized manner.

The graph when plotted contain a lot of points in which a line is drawn to pass the majority of them. In situations whereby some of the data point don't follow the line drawn then it must be ignored.

This is because they don't usually reflect the trend of the data which is why this particular scenario was chosen as the most appropriate choice.

At what condition to sodium chloride and silver nitrate react
Mumz [18]

They give a double displacement reaction where the ions switch places and give sodium nitrate (NaNO3) and silver chloride (AgCl) as the products. Silver nitrate is also very soluble in water, but silver chloride is highly insoluble in water and will precipitate out of solution as a white solid.

. What mass of ammonium chloride must be added to 250. mL of water to give a solution with pH
Eduardwww [97]

The mass of ammonium chloride that must be added is : ( A ) 4.7 g

Given data :

Volume of water ( V )  = 250 mL = 0.25 L

pH of solution = 4.85

Kb = 1.8 * 10⁻⁵

Kw = 10⁻¹⁴

Given that the dissolution of NH₄Cl gives NH₄⁺⁺ and Cl⁻ ions the equation is written as :

NH₄CI  +  H₂O  ⇄  NH₃ + H₃O⁺

where conc of H₃O⁺

[ H₃O⁺ ] = \sqrt{Ka.C}   and Ka = Kw / Kb

∴ Ka = 5.56 * 10⁻¹⁰

Next step : Determine the concentration of H₃O⁺ in the solution

pH = - log [ H₃O⁺ ] = 4.85

∴ [ H₃O⁺ ] in the solution = 1.14125 * 10⁻⁵

Next step : Determine the concentration of NH₄CI in the solution

C = [ H₃O⁺ ]² / Ka

  = ( 1.14125 * 10⁻⁵ )² /  5.56 * 10⁻¹⁰

  = 0.359 mol / L

Determine the number of moles of NH₄CI in the solution

n = C . V

  = 0.359 mol / L  * 0.25 L =  0.08979 mole

Final step : determine the mass of ammonium chloride that must be added to 250 mL

mass = n * molar mass

         = 0.08979 * 53.5 g/mol

         = 4.80 g  ≈ 4.7 grams

Therefore we can conclude that the mass of ammonium chloride that must be added is 4.7 g

which of the following chemical structures can form hydrogen bonds with water? Methane (CH4), molecular oxygen (O2), hydrogen su
klio [65]

Answer:

Molecular oxygen and Hydrogen fluoride.

Explanation:

Definition:

Hydrogen bonding:

It is a type of dipole-dipole attraction between the hydrogen atom and more electronegative atoms.

In hydrogen bonding mostly the highly electronegative atoms are fluorine, nitrogen and oxygen.

Explanation:

In given compound such as methane CH₄ the electronegativity of carbon is 2.55 while that of hydrogen is 2.2 so there is smaller electronegativity difference that's why it can not form hydrogen bond.

In case of molecular oxygen the electronegativite atom oxygen is present. It can form hydrogen bonds with water. its electronegativity is 3.44.

In case of hydrogen fluoride the electronegativity atom fluorine is present. It will form hydrogen bonds with water. Its electronegativity is 3.98. So it is more likely to take part in hydrogen bonding.
