It is important for a nail technician to understand the anatomy and physiology of the natural nail and surrounding area so as to be aware of any defect and also to prevent risk of injury.

<h3>What is a Nail?</h3>

This is referred as a flexible tissue which grows on the fingers and is made up of keratin. They are present on the tip of toes and fingers and are capable of growing and also used by animals for protection and looking for food.

The nail technician has to understand the anatomy and physiology of the natural nail and surrounding area so as to reduce the risk of injuries and treat it where necessary.
