Evidence based practice should be implemented and a document should be prepared of the student's responses before referring the student for special education services, believed to have a learning disability.

Special education services provide education to the children according to their unique needs and demands. There are mainly six types of special education: Push in Services, Pull out Services, Inclusive Classrooms, Exclusive Education, Specialty Schools and Residential Programs.

Learning disability is the condition which inhibits a child to understand the symbols, characters or mathematical calculations. The term covers various conditions or disabilities. The three major categories are: dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
