4.A guitar player is deliberately trying to produce beats by bending one string to make it almost match another unbent string’s

pitch. If the unbent string’s frequency is 343 Hz and he wants to hear nine beats in 2 s, what pitch(es) could he bend the string to?

When two sound sources of the same amplitude and similar frequencies f₁ and f₂ are played at a time, beats are produced with a frequency given by:

f_{beat}=|f_2-f_1|

Since the guitar player wants to hear 9 beats in 2 seconds, then:

f_{beat}=\frac{9}{2s}=4.5Hz

Then, the pitches that can be used are those whose difference with respect to the frequency of 343Hz is 4.5Hz:

\begin{gathered} f_2=f_1\pm f_{beat} \\  \\ \Rightarrow f_2=343Hz\pm4.5Hz \\  \\ \therefore f_{2,1}=347.5Hz \\ f_{2,2}=338.5Hz \end{gathered}

Therefore, the pitches he could bend the string to, are 347.5Hz and 338.5Hz.

A 110 kg hoop rolls along a horizontal floor so that the hoop's center of mass has a speed of 0.220 m/s. How much work must be d
Softa [21]

Answer:

the work that must be done to stop the hoop is 2.662 J

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the hoop, m = 110 kg

speed of the center mass, v = 0.22 m/s

The work that must be done to stop the hoop is equal to the change in the kinetic energy of the hoop;

W = ΔK.E

W = ¹/₂mv²

W = ¹/₂ x 110 x 0.22²

W = 2.662 J

Therefore, the work that must be done to stop the hoop is 2.662 J

In the diagram, q1=+6.25 * 10^ -8 C. What is the potential difference when you go from point A to point B? Include the correct s
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

Moving a unit "positive" test charge from A to B will result in a reduction in potential

V = K Q / R      potential at a point

V2 - V1 = K Q (1 / .4 - 1 / .15) = = k Q (.15 - .4) / .06 = -4.17 K Q

V2 - V1 = -4.17 * 9 & 10E9 * 6.25 E-8

V2 - V1 = -4.17 * 562.5 J/C

V = - 2346 Volts
