Given:-

7,20,12

To find:-

Wheather the given sides form a valid triangle.

So now let,

A=7,B=20,C=12

To check we use the condition,

A+B>C,B+C>A,C+A>B

Substituting the values we get,

7+20>12,20+12>7,12+7>20

In the above condition 12+7>20 is wrong.

So the condition fails and the given sides doesnt form a triangle.

Help! I need these metric units converted into customary!
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

Inches,Foot ,Yards and Miles are customary unit used here.

2.54\ cm = 1\ inch

0.30\ m = 1\ Foot

0.91 \ m = 1\ Yard

1.61\ km=1\ mile

Step-by-step explanation:

To convert the metric units to customary units.

We have,

2.54\ cm = 1\ inch

Note:A centimeter, or centimeter, is a unit of length equal to one hundredth of a meter. There are 2.54 centimeters in an inch.

0.30\ m = 1\ Foot

Note:A foot is a unit of length equal to exactly 12 inches or 0.3048 meters.

0.91 \ m = 1\ Yard

Note:A yard is a unit of length equal to 3 feet or exactly 0.9144 meters.

And

1.61\ km=1\ mile

Note:A mile is a unit of distance equal to 5,280 feet or exactly 1.609344 kilometers.

An Image is attached here with.

So the customary units are inches,foot,yard and miles.

For which values of x is the inequality 3(1 + x) > x + 17 true?
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

x>7

Step-by-step explanation:

3(1 + x) > x + 17

distribute

3 + 3x> x+17

subtract x from each side

3 +3x-x > x-x+17

3+2x > 17

subtract 3 from each side

3-3+2x > 17-3

2x>14

divide by 2

2x/2 > 14/2

x>7

Bluefin tuna are large fish that can weigh 1,500 pounds and swim at speeds of 55 miles per hour. because they are used in sushi,
shtirl [24]

Given exponential function

f(x)= 230 (0.881)^x

Where x is the number of years

f(x) is the number of tuna in thousands

To find out when number of tuna is 50 thousand , we plug in 50 for f(x) and solve for x

50 = 230(0.881)^x

Divide by 230 on both sides

\frac{5}{23}  = (0.881)^x

Take ln on both sides

ln(\frac{5}{23})  = ln(0.881)^x

ln(\frac{5}{23}) = x ln(0.881)

Divide by ln(0.881) on both sides

x = \frac{ln(\frac{5}{23})}{ln(0.881)}

x= 12.04

Year = 1974 + 12.04 = 1986

so in 1986 there will be 50 thousand tuna.
