Because severely battered women are at risk for homicide, The responsibility done by the nurse is to inform the client about associated risk factors and determine the immediacy of danger.

Homicide occurs when a person intentionally kills another person. A homicide requires only an omission or volitional act that causes the death of another.

Homicide is a general term and that refers to the noncriminal act as well as the criminal act like murder. Few homicides are considered as justifiable because the killing of a person is just to aid a representative of the law or to prevent the commission of a serious felony.

Nurses must responsible for their choices, actions, and the results of those choices. The decisions as well as actions of other healthcare professionals or other nurses cannot be the responsibility of registered nurses (RNs) or experienced registered nurses (RPNs).
