Remember the following property of logarithms:

\ln (a)-\ln (b)=\ln (\frac{a}{b})

Use this property to simplify the left member of the equation and solve for x:

\begin{gathered} \ln (2x-2)-\ln (x-1)=\ln (x) \\ \Rightarrow\ln (\frac{2x-2}{x-1})=\ln (x) \\ \Rightarrow\frac{2x-2}{x-1}=x \\ \Rightarrow2x-2=x(x-1) \\ \Rightarrow2(x-1)=x(x-1) \end{gathered}

Since the factor <em>(x-1)</em> appears at both sides of the equation, we can simplify it as long as <em>x</em> is different from 1 (since the factor should not be equal to 0). Then:

x=2

Plug in <em>x=2</em> into the original equation to check the solution:

\begin{gathered} \ln (2(2)-2)-\ln (2-1)=\ln (2) \\ \Rightarrow\ln (4-2)-\ln (1)=\ln (2) \\ \Rightarrow\ln (2)-\ln (1)=\ln (2) \end{gathered}

Since ln(1)=0, then:

\ln (2)=\ln (2)

Therefore, the solution is x=2.

What kind of stars make up the halo?
Step2247 [10]
By definition, a halo is a part of a galaxy wherein it mainly consists of scattered stars forming bulges having a significantly spherical structure. In addition, the galactic structure is commonly made up of old and metal-rich stars forming clouds of gas and dirt at the spirals of a galaxy.

For an investigation, a teacher dropped a metal bolt into a container of maple syrup and asked students to remove the bolt witho
Aneli [31]

<em>Choice-C</em> is the right one.

-- The bolt didn't react to the magnet, and just laid there.  That tells you that the bolt was made of a non-magnetic material.

-- The bolt didn't float. It went straight to the bottom.  That tells you that it's more dense than the fluid around it.

A block has a volume of 0.09 m3 and a density of 4,000 kg/m3. What's the force of gravity acting on the
SCORPION-xisa [38]
Density = (mass) / (volume)
4,000 kg/m³ = (mass) / (0.09 m³)
(4,000 kg/m³) x (0.09 m³) = mass
mass = 360 kg
force of gravity = (mass) x (acceleration of gravity) = (360 kg) x (9.8 m/s²) = (360 x 9.8)  kg-m<span>/s² </span><span>=   </span>3,528 newtons .

A 2200 kg SUV traveling at 23.9 m/s can be stopped in 0.16 s if it hits a concrete wall. Assume that a 60 kg person was in the c
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

8962.5 N

Explanation:

From fundamental kinematics equations, acceleration, a is given by a=\frac {v-u}{t} where v is final velocity, u is initial velocity and t is time

We also know that force is a product of mass and acceleration of an object and substituting a=\frac {v-u}{t}  in the formula F=ma we obtain

F=ma=m\frac {v-u}{t}  where m is the mass of the body

F=60\times\frac {0-23.9}{0.16}=-8962.5 N

Therefore, the force is 8962.5 N
