In order to slide a heavy desk across the floor at constant speed in a straight line, you have to exert a horizontal force of 80

0 newtons. compare the 800-newton horizontal pushing force f to the frictional force f between the desk and the ground.

The hint is "constant speed".
If there is a net force on an object, what occurs to that object? F net = m*a.... It accelerates!
So, if the desk is going at a CONSTANT speed, what does that tell you about the acceleration? There is a change in speed.
Fnet = m*a Since a = 0 Fnet = 0
Fnet = sum of the force... reflect the direction of F as the positive direction. Sum of the forces in the direction of F = 0 0 = F - friction F = friction
So, if F = 800 N, then friction = 800 N in the opposite direction.

How does the scientific process generally begin?
Murljashka [212]
There are several approaches. The most favourable one (in my opinion) is this one:
1. Asking a question
2. Doing a research (how to answer this question)
3. Creating a hypothesis (NOT a thesis!)
4. Experimenting (to prove the hypothesis)
5. Analysing results from the experiment
6. Writing a thesis

B. the hockey player is moving at a speed of 9. 5 m/s. if it takes him 2 seconds to come to a stop under constant acceleration,
balu736 [363]

The hockey player is moving at a speed of 9. 5 m/s. if it takes him 2 seconds to come to a stop under constant acceleration, will be s = 9.5 m.

The branch of physics that defines motion with respect to space and time, ignoring the cause of that motion, is known as kinematics. Kinematics equations are a set of equations that can derive an unknown aspect of a body’s motion if the other aspects are provided.

These equations link five kinematic variables:

Displacement (denoted by Δx)

Initial Velocity v0

Final Velocity denoted by v

Time interval (denoted by t)

Constant acceleration (denoted by a)

These equations define motion at either constant velocity or at constant acceleration. Because kinematics equations are only applicable at a constant acceleration or a constant speed, we cannot use them if either of the two is changing.

v = u + at

0 = 9.5 + a (2)

a = - 9.5 /2  m/s^{2}

v^{2} = u^{2} + 2as

0 =  (9.5)^{2} + 2* (- 9.5 /2) * s

-  (9.5)^{2}  = - 9.5 s

s = 9.5 m

Technician A says that valve overlap is the number of crankshaft degrees that both valves are closed. Technician B says that val
Vadim26 [7]

Answer: Technician B

Explanation: A valve overlap occurs when both the exhaust valve and the inlet valve are open at the same time.

It is also seen as the number of degrees at which both the inlet and exhaust valves are open.

Valve overlap helps in boosting the efficiency of the engine by taking advantage of the expelled pressure from the exhaust.

It is expressed mathematically in degrees of shaft rotation.

So, Technician B is very correct.

What is the Isotope notation for a Lithium atom?
Serggg [28]
Lithium has five isotopes, and each will have different notation. Lithium-7 is commonly used in salt and nuclear reactors. .ZAX , where X is the atomic symbol for the element, here Li for lithium, Z is the mass number, or the total number of protons and neutrons, and A is the atomic number, or the number of protons
