The hydrofluoric acid has greater boiling point than water, ammonia or methane molecules.

What is boiling point?

The temperature at which the pressure of the surroundings upon a liquid is equal to the pressure which is exerted by the vapour of the liquid.

What is Hydrogen bond?

The intermolecular attraction between most electronegative atom and the hydrogen atom is termed as hydrogen bond.

Since greater the electronegativity of atom greater will be the strength of hydrogen bond.

As, F atom has greater electronegativity than O-atom which has further greater electronegativity than N atom and than Carbon atom.

So the strength of hydrogen bond is as follows:

hydrofluoric acid > water molecule > ammonia molecule > methane molecule.

Thus, we concluded that hydrofluoric acid has greater boiling point than water, ammonia or methane molecules.

1)Substance A melts at 2300 °c, and it doesn’t conduct electricity even when molten and doesn't dissolve in water. What is the s
Minchanka [31]
Answer:
Substance A is a Giant covalent structure with covalent bonding

Explanation:
Substance A is a Giant covalent structure. There are strong covalent bonds between the atoms and a large amount of heat energy is needed to break the bonds resulting in high melting point. Substance A does not conduct electricity in molten state reason being, it exist as molecules which are electrically neutral and there are no mobile charged carriers.

Some scientists believe that life on Earth may have originated near deep-ocean vents. Balance the following reactions, which are
goldenfox [79]

Answer :

(1) The balanced chemical reaction will be,

2CH_3SH(l)+CO(g)\rightarrow CH_3CO(SCH_3)(l)+H_2S(g)

(2) The balanced chemical reaction will be,

8H_2S(g)+8CO(g)\rightarrow 4CH_3CO_2H(g)+S_8(s)

Explanation :

Balanced chemical reaction : It is defined as the reaction in which the number of atoms of individual elements present on reactant side must be equal to the product side.

If the amount of atoms of each type on the left and right sides of a reaction differs then to balance the equation by adding coefficient in the front of the elements or molecule or compound in the chemical equation.

The coefficient tell us about that how many molecules or atoms present in the chemical equation.

(1) The unbalanced chemical reaction is,

CH_3SH(l)+CO(g)\rightarrow CH_3CO(SCH_3)(l)+H_2S(g)

This reaction is an unbalanced chemical reaction because in this reaction number of hydrogen, sulfur and carbon atoms are not balanced.

In order to balance the chemical equation, the coefficient '2' put before the CH_3SH and we get the balanced chemical equation.

The balanced chemical reaction will be,

2CH_3SH(l)+CO(g)\rightarrow CH_3CO(SCH_3)(l)+H_2S(g)

(2) The unbalanced chemical reaction is,

H_2S(g)+CO(g)\rightarrow CH_3CO_2H(g)+S_8(s)

This reaction is an unbalanced chemical reaction because in this reaction number of hydrogen, sulfur and carbon atoms are not balanced.

In order to balance the chemical equation, the coefficient '8' put before the H_2S\text{ and }CO and the coefficient '4' put before the CH_3CO_2H we get the balanced chemical equation.

The balanced chemical reaction will be,

8H_2S(g)+8CO(g)\rightarrow 4CH_3CO_2H(g)+S_8(s)

Show dipole dipole force of water and ethyll alcohol.
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

Water: H2O --> [H+] + [OH-]

Ethyl alcohol: C2H5OH --> [C2H5O-] + [H+]

Explanation:

Dipole-dipole force is observed when an ionic compound ionizes (forms ions), revealing its slightly positive ion and slightly negatively ion.

The chemical formula of Water is H2O.

H2O --> [H+] + [OH-]

The chemical formula of ethyl alcohol is C2H5OH.

C2H5OH --> [C2H5O-] + [H+]

Note the positive and negative parts of both water and ethyl alcohol as expressed in the equations above.

Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

Matter cannot be created or destroyed.

Explanation:

According to law of conservation of matter, Matter can neither be created nor destroyed. It just gets converted into other forms.

So, It's important to equalize the no. of moles on either side of the chemical reaction.
