The length of the wire used is 3.162 m

<h3>Resistivity of a material</h3>

The formula for calculating the power is expressed as;

P = V²/R

Determine th resistance

R =  V²/P

Determine the resistance of the heating coil by substituting

R = (110²/500)

R = 12100/500

R = 24.2ohms

Determine the length of the wire

R = ρL/A such that;

L = RA/ρ

Substitute the given parameters

diameter = 0.5 mm = 0.0005m

radius = 0.0005/2 = 0.00025 m

Determine the area

A = πr²

A = π * 0.00025²

A = 1.96*10^-7 m²

Determine the length

L = (24.2 * 1.96*10^-7 / 1.50*10^-6) =

L = 3.162 m

Hence the length of the wire used is 3.162 m

The length of the wire used is 3.162 m

Diamonds Choose one:
Daniel [21]

Answer:

D. are brought from the mantle to the surface in magma that hardens into komatiite.

Explanation:

Diamond :

 It is the hardest form of carbon.The atomic atoms arrange in the cubic crystal structure and this is known as diamond cubic.Another form of the diamond at room temperature is graphite.This is used for making jewelry.This is also used in the cutting process because it has high strength.

Therefore the correct option for the diamond is D.

A 5.18x10^4 kg railroad car moves on a frictionless horizontal rails until it hits a horizontal spring stopper with a force cons
nalin [4]

Answer:

The initial velocity of the cart was 0.91m/s.

Explanation:

When the car comes to a stop it has delivered all of its kinetic energy to the spring; therefore,

\dfrac{1}{2}kx^2 = \dfrac{1}{2}  mv^2

solving for v we get:

v = x\sqrt{\dfrac{k}{m} },\\

we put in k = 4.21*10^{5}N/m, m = 5.18*10^{4}kg, and x = 0.32m to get:

v = (0.32m)\sqrt{\dfrac{4.21*10^5}{5.18*10^4} },\\

\boxed{v = 0.91m/s.}
