Electric utility power blackouts will result in short electric power outages for the organization.

<h3>Power blackouts :</h3>

When the electrical power network, often known as the electrical grid, is down, there are power outages. Power outages can have a variety of causes, but they always tend to affect entire regions or cities rather than simply a single residence. For example, the Northeast blackout of 2003 left 50 million people without power from New York to Canada’s capital Ottawa.

A place experiences a blackout when all power is lost. Power outages of this kind generally affect a sizable population over perhaps extraordinarily broad areas. Blackouts are particularly difficult to quickly fix because they typically result from significant damage to electrical generation facilities (such as structural damage from violent wind storms or lightning strikes). As a result, these types of outages can, in the worst-case scenarios, last for several weeks.

Explanation:

Given:  uniform electric field E= 82.0 kN/C.

a) charge density σ =ε_0 E.

therefore, \sigma =82\times10^3\times3.85\times10^{-12}\\=0.0000003157= 315.7 nC/m^2

b)Total charge on each face = σA

q=σA

=315.7\times10^{-9}\times52\times10^{-4}\\=1.614\times10^{-9}= 1.614 \text{ nC}\\\text{Similarly on the other face }  = -1.614 \text{ nC}

Estimate (a) the maximum, and (b) the minimum thermal conductivity values (in W/m-K) for a cermet that contains 83 vol% carbide
velikii [3]

Answer:

  k_max = 31.82 w/mk

  k_min  = 17.70 w/mk

Explanation:

a) the maximum thermal conductivity is given as

k_{max} = k_m*v_m + k_p*v_p

where k_m is thermal conductvitiy of metal

k_p is thermal conductvitiy of carbide

v_m = proportion of metal in the cement = 0.17

v_p = proportion of carbide in the cement = 0.83

            = 66*0.17 + 28*0.83

           k_max = 31.82 w/mk

b) the minimum thermal conductivity is given as

k_{min} = \frac{k_{carbide}* k_{metal}}{k_{metal} v_{carbide} +k_{metal} v_{carbide}}

          = \frac{28+66}{28*0.17 +66*0.83}

       k_min  = 17.70 w/mk

Algol consists of a 3.7 msun main-sequence star and a 0.8 msun subgiant. why does this seem surprising, at least at first?
Aleonysh [2.5K]
The two stars should be the same age, so we'd expect the subgiant to be more massive than the main-sequence star.

A charge of +0.001 C is 1 m to your right and another charge of +1000 C is 1 m to your left. You are holding a charge of −1 C. W
almond37 [142]

Answer:

C and D

Explanation:

Charge on right = +0.001 C

Charge on left = 1000 C

Charge held in between = -1C

Ratio between right and left charge:

=\frac{1000}{.001}\\\\=1\times 10^6

Which shows charge on left exerts 1,000,000 times more force then charge on right

Charge on left is 1000 times greater in magnitude than charge held between and charge held between is 1000 times greater in magnitude than charge on right. So the magnitude of the force on the charge you are holding would be the same if it were +1 C instead of −1 C.
