If the concentration of a dilute solution of nitric acid is 0. 0001 M. The pH of the solution is 4.

What is pH ?

pH is used to measure whether the substance is acidic, basic or neutral and the range is 0 - 14.

How to find the pH of the solution ?

To calculate the pH hydrogen ion it is expressed as:

pH = - log [H⁺]

So, concentration of hydrogen ion in HNO₃ is 0.0001 M.

pH = - log [0.0001]

     = -\log (\frac{1}{10000})

     = - log (10)⁻⁴

     = -4 × - log (10)

     = - 4 × (-1)

     = 4

Thus from the above conclusion we can say that The pH of the solution is 4.

Hydrogen sulfide gas gives rotten eggs their terrible odor. Hydrogen sulfide burns in air (O2) to produce sulfide dioxide gas an
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

Answer:

2.07 mol O₂

Explanation:

First we need to write down the species present in the chemical equation, using the information given by the exercise:

  • H₂S + O₂ → SO₂ + H₂O

However this equation is not balanced, so now we balance it:

  • 2H₂S + 3O₂ → 2SO₂ + 2H₂O

Now we can use the stoichiometric ratio to calculate the moles of oxygen from the moles of sulfide dioxide:

  • 1.38 molSO₂ * \frac{3molO_{2}}{2molSO_{2}} = 2.07 mol O₂

Aqueous solutions of silver nitrate (AgNO3) and iron(III) chloride (FeCl3) are mixed together. Which ion combines with the chlor
garik1379 [7]
Hello there!

The correct answer is Ag⁺.

If we look at the solubility rules, it says that most chlorides are soluble, except with Ag⁺, and Pb²⁺.

I hope this helps!

If you need to make 240 g lioh, how many grams of li3n must you react with excess water?
Savatey [412]
Answer is: 116,1 g of Li₃N.
Chemical reaction: Li₃N + 3H₂O → 3LiOH + NH₃.
m(LiOH) = 240g.
n(LiOH) = m(LiOH) ÷ M(LiOH).
n(LiOH) = 240 g ÷ 24 g/mol = 10 mol.
from chemical reaction: n(LiOH) : n(Li₃N) = 3 : 1.
10 mol : n(Li₃N) = 3 : 1.
n(Li₃N) = 3,33 mol.
m(Li₃N) = n(Li₃N) · M(Li₃N)
m(Li₃N) = 3,33 mol · 34,85 g/mol = 116,1 g.
