It's the function of function: f(g(x))

1st you replace x (of f(x) by the value of g(x)

Example: let's take f(x) = x²  ag g(x) = 1/x, you just plug 1/x into x in f(x)
 f(g(x)) = f(1/x)² & f(x) =1/x²

If we follow the same methodology we find that f(x) =2/x & g(x) =2/x is the answer to the problem. Proof:
f(g(x)) = f( 2/(2/x))  = f(2(x/2) =2x/2 = x

Determining Whether a Point Lies on a Circle
Softa [21]

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

If the center is at (0, 0) and if (0, -9) lies on the circle, then the radius must be 9.

In this case, the equation of this circle is

x^2 + y^2 = r^2 = 9^2.

Does (8, 717) satisfy this equation?  No.  717^2 would be far outside of the circle.  the distance from the center to the point  (8, 17) is not the same as the radius

Write the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the liney=-1x/ 3 + 2 and goes through the point (5, 6)
KIM [24]

Answer:

y = 3x-9

Step-by-step explanation:

y = -1/3 x +2

The slope is -1/3

We want a line perpendicular to it

Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes

The new slope is -(-3/1) = 3

We have a slope  m=3 and a point (5,6)

We will use point slope form to find the line

y-y-1 = m(x-x1)

y-6 = 3(x-5)

In slope intercept form

Distribute

y-6 = 3x-15

Add 6 to each side

y-6+6 = 3x-15+6

y = 3x-9

On a road trip, Maura drove at a speed of 60 miles per hour for the first two hours.she then increased her speed by 25%.
xxMikexx [17]
So Maura was driving 60 miles per hour for two hours. That's 60x2 which equals 120 miles in the two hours she's been driving. After two hours she increases her speed by 25%. 25% of 60 is 15, so she is now going 75 miles per hour (Part A). If she continues to drive this way, the equation would be 75xh=d. 75 being how fast she's going and h being the number of hours she's gone. If you multiple those two together it will give you the distance she's gone (Part B). If you substitute the 5 hours from Part C the equation would be 75 miles multiplied by 5 hours. 75x5= 375 miles.

Question:
kykrilka [37]
What we know:
- number of meeting rooms = m
- chairs in each meeting room = 325

Since we need an equation to represent the number of chairs in m meeting rooms, we would multiply the amount of chairs per meeting room (325) by m. This amount is c. So the equation becomes:

c = 325m

Now the question asks for the amount of chairs if there are 7 meeting rooms in the hotel. To find this, substitute 7 for m into c = 325m.

c = 325m
c = 325(7)
c = 2275

Answer:
The equation is c = 325m, and the amount of chairs if m equals 7 is 2,275.
