We have been given an equation d=0.15t that represents the distance an airplane travels in Miles (d) is related to the time in seconds (t).

A. Upon substituting t=1 in our equation we will get,

d=0.15\times 1

d=0.15

We can see that our plane is travelling at rate of 0.15 miles per second.

\text{Speed of plane }=0.15\frac{\text{miles}}{\text{second}}

Therefore, plane is flying at the rate of 0.15 miles per second.

B. To find distance traveled by airplane in 30 seconds we will substitute t=30 in our given equation.

d=0.15\times 30

d=4.5

Therefore, plane will travel 4.5 miles in 30 seconds.

C. To find time it will take to travel 12.75 miles we will substitute d=12.75 in our given equation.

d=0.15\times t

12.75=0.15\times t

t=\frac{12.75}{0.15}=85

Therefore, plane will take 85 seconds to travel 12.75 miles.

I need help with these two trigonometry problems.
Sloan [31]

Answer:

B \approx 32.1\°; A \approx 39.0\°

Step-by-step explanation:

Sine theorem: in any triangle, the ratio between a side and the sine of the opposite angle is constant

\frac{sin\ \alpha}a = \frac{sin\ \beta}b =\frac{sin\ \gamma}c

In our case, for the left triangle,

\frac {sin\ 103\°}{11} =\frac{sin\ B} 6 \rightarrow sin\ B = \frac6{11} sin\ 103\°

Time to grab a calculator and crunch numbers. Double check your calculator is in degrees and not in radians (plug in sin 30°, if you're getting 0.5 you're good) and you will get

sin\ B \approx 0.53 \rightarrow B \approx 32.1\°

Same difference with the right triangle. With the same calculations

sin\ A = \frac{26}{41} sin 83\° \approx 0.68 \rightarrow A \approx 39.0\°

Alexis and Tosha challenged each other to a typing test. Alexis typed 54 words in one minute, which was 120% of the Tasha typed.
garik1379 [7]
Words of Tasha = A
A x 120/100=54
simplify 120/100=6/5
A x 6/5=54
divide both side by 6/5
A=54/(6/5)
A=54x5/6
A=45
