If you refuse to date romantically, that can be a form, but even a standard relationship can lead to sexual activity.


Avoiding certain kinds of sexual activity, but you are engaging in other sexual activity you are still active which means you are not abstinence.


If you are dating people who are able to consent to sex that would not be abstinence unless you are going into D and refusing it.
