For a number its 4 because you do 12-4 since 4 will win the small prize so now there is 8 students left and the you divide 8 by 2 since half get a certificate and that gets you 4

Answer:

1/3 of the students

Step-by-step explanation:

4/12 of the students wins the small prize

so, 8/12 of the students will not get a small prize

1/2 of 8/12 = 4/12 = 1/3

1/3 of the students will get the certificate.

HERE'S HOW TO DO IT :)

A composite figure is made up of several simple geometric figures such as triangles, rectangles, squares, circles, and semicircles.

<u>To find the area of a composite figure, separate the figure into simpler shapes whose area can be found. Then add the areas together.</u>

<u>(SEE EXAMPLE ATTACHED)</u>

<u>HERES WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT COMPOSITE FIGURES:</u>

<u>Composite Figures. A figure (or shape) that can be divided into more than one of the basic figures is said to be a composite figure (or shape). For example, figure ABCD is a composite figure as it consists of two basic figures</u>

Answer:

  5. -18x^3y^4 +54x^2y^4

  6. 6x^2 -40x +50

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the distributive property. The factor outside parentheses multiplies each term inside parentheses.

__

<h3>5.</h3>

  (9xy)(-2x^2y^3+6xy)=(9xy)(-2x^2y^3)+(9xy)(6xy^3)\\\\=\boxed{-18x^3y^4+54x^2y^4}

__

<h3>6.</h3>

  (3x-5)(2x-10)=3x(2x-10)-5(2x-10)\\\\=6x^2-30x-10x+50=\boxed{6x^2-40x+50}
