So you need to do the multiplication before you add.

so first you divide: 16
(16 \div 8) + (6 \div 4) + 3
so it creates this:...up to this point...
(2) + (1.5) + 3
then you add and it comes out to: 6.5

The two lines below intersect as shown what the value of x (2x+29) (9x-13)
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Given:

Two lines intersect each other.

Consider the below figure attached with this question.

To find:

The value of x.

Solution:

If two lines intersect each other then the vertically opposite angles are congruent and their measures are equal.

In the given figure, the measures of two vertically opposite angles are (2x+29)° and (9x-13)°.

2x+29=9x-13

2x-9x=-29-13

-7x=-42

Divide both sides by -7.

x=\dfrac{-42}{-7}

x=6

Therefore, the value of x is 6.

<u />3x=0.5x^{2}\\\\6x=x^{2} \\ \\ x^{2}-6x=0 \\ \\ x(x-6)=0 \\ \\ \boxed{x=0, 6}

<u>Question 2</u>

<u />0=5x^{2}-2x+6 \\ \\ x=\frac{2 \pm \sqrt{(-2)^{2}-4(5)(6)}}{2} \\ \\ x=\frac{2 \pm \sqrt{-116}}{10} \\ \\ x=\frac{2 \pm 2i\sqrt{29}}{10} \\ \\ \boxed{x=\frac{1 \pm i\sqrt{29}}{5}}
