Answer:

-4

Step-by-step explanation:

Low tide is 1 ft below average water level.

High tide is 5 ft higher than low tide.

High tide is 5 ft higher than low tide. Start at low tide. Use 1 ft of the 5 ft to go up to average water level. You still have 4 ft more to go to high tide. That means high tide is 4 ft above average water level. Then, the average water level is 4 ft below high tide. A height below another height is is a negative number of feet from that height. Since the average water height is 4 ft BELOW high tide, then relative to high tide, the average water level is -4 ft.

\bf 343^{\frac{2}{3}}+36^{\frac{1}{2}}-256^{\frac{3}{4}}\qquad \begin{cases}
343=7\cdot 7\cdot 7\\
\qquad 7^3\\
36=6\cdot 6\\
\qquad 6^2\\
256=4\cdot 4\cdot 4\cdot 4\\
\qquad 4^4
\end{cases}\\\\\\ (7^3)^{\frac{2}{3}}+(6^2)^{\frac{1}{2}}-(4^4)^{\frac{3}{4}}
\\\\\\
\sqrt[3]{(7^3)^2}+\sqrt[2]{(6^2)^1}-\sqrt[4]{(4^4)^3}\implies \sqrt[3]{(7^2)^3}+\sqrt[2]{(6^1)^2}-\sqrt[4]{(4^3)^4}
\\\\\\
7^2+6-4^3\implies 49+6-64\implies -9

to see what you can take out of the radical, you can always do a quick "prime factoring" of the values, that way you can break it in factors to see who is what.

Step-by-step explanation:

11. Eagles to whales since there are 4 eagles and 2 whales

12. There are a total of 100 senators, so the ratio is 46:100, divide by 2 to get lowest terms

13. #'s are given to you 54:46, just simplify by dividing

14. 21:35, simplify by dividing common terms, which in this case is 7

Find the solution for the following: Three backpackers cooked rice for dinner. The first one gave 400g of rice and the second 20
victus00 [196]

Answer:

First backpacker should receive $4 and the second one $2

Step-by-step explanation:

notice that the total amount of rice for the three is 600 g.

Then, the first one that gave 400 g contributed 400 out of 600, that is 400/600 = 2/3

The second one contributed 200 out of 600, that is 200/600 = 1/3

then the first one should receive 2/3 of the $6 = (2/3) x 6 = $4

and the second one should receive 1/3 of the %6 = (1/3) x 6 = $2
