Answer:

there are no previous laws to substantiate the information.

Explanation:

Scientific laws build upon each other. In other words, the laws complement each other. For instance, there are laws that are known as the fundamental laws. These laws lay down the foundation of all scientific beliefs and hypotheses. Without a satisfaction of these laws, the research will be null and void. In fact, it will be invalid unless the first principles of the physical laws are satisfied and proved.

Scientific laws are not proven, rather they are assumed to be true by the results of other experiments. Basically, this scientist is saying that he has proven a scientific law, which is not possible. He most likely has proven a scientific theory if he has proven something.
Hope that helps!

If an 85.0 mL container of helium gas at standard pressure is heated from 20.oC to 91oC and the pressure is increased to 2.8 atm
erastovalidia [21]

Answer: V₂ = 37.71mL

Explanation: To determine the new volume of Helium gas, use the Combined Gas Law, which states the following relationship among pressure, volume and temperature:

\frac{P_{1}V_{1}}{T_{1}} =\frac{P_{2}V_{2}}{T_{2}}

where index 1 relates to the initial state of the gas and index 2 to the final state of the gas.

Temperature is in Kelvin, so:

T = °C + 273

For this situation, standard pressure is 1 atm. Temperatures will be:

T₁ = 20 + 273 = 293 K

T₂ = 91 + 273 = 364 K

Solving:

V_{2}=\frac{T_{2}P_{1}V_{1}}{P_{2}T_{1}}

V_{2}=\frac{364*1*85}{2.8*293}

V_{2}=\frac{30940}{820.4}

V_{2}= 37.71

The new volume of He gas is 37.71 mL.

1. Which statement concerning an ecosystem is correct?
GenaCL600 [577]

(3) It involves interactions between biotic and abiotic

factors.

Explanation:

An ecosystem involves the interaction between biotic and abiotic factors.

The biotic factors are the living components of the ecosystem. The abiotic factors are the non-living components.

An ecosystem is made up the interaction between living organisms and their environments.

  • Ecosystem are combination of the community of lives and the environment.
  • The environment contains the non-living abiotic components.
  • The organisms are the living components.
  • All of this merges together to form of the ecosystem.

Determine the bond type formed between Hg and F
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Multivalent Ionic

Explanation:

The type of bond formed between the atoms of two elements can easily be deduced from the magnitude of electronegativity difference between the two bonding atoms.

A summary of electronegativity differences and corresponding types of bonds are shown below as adapted from chemlibretexts, where Δχ is the difference in electronegativity ;

ionic if Δχ ≥ 2.0

polar if 2.0 > Δχ > 0.5

nonpolar if 0.5 > Δχ

To determine the type of bond between Hg and F. Hg has an electronegativity of 2 while F has an electronegativity of 4. the difference in electronegativity (Δχ) is 4 - 2 = 2

This corresponds to a multivalent ionic bond because mercurous ion is the

Hg2^2+  ion and this leads to the formation of Hg2X2 (mercury I fluoride).
