You push a 50 kg wooden box across a wooden floor at a constant speed of 1.0 m/s. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.15. N

ow you double the force on the box. How long would it take for the velocity of the crate to double to 2.0 m/s?

Answer:

0.68 seconds

Explanation:

Data provided in the question:

Mass of the box = 50 kg

Speed of the box = 1.0 m/s

Coefficient of friction, μ = 0.15

Now,

Force applied = μmg

Here,

g is the acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

Thus,

F = 0.15 × 50 × 9.8

= 73.5 N

Also,

Force = Mass × Acceleration

thus,

73.5 N = 50 × a

or

a = 1.47 m/s²

After doubling the speed

Final speed = 2 × Initial speed

= 2 × 1 m/s

= 2 m/s

Also,

Acceleration = [change in speed] ÷ Time

or

1.47 = [ 2 - 1 ] ÷ Time

or

Time = 1 ÷ 1.47

or

Time = 0.68 seconds

A flashlight converts?
sammy [17]

Answer:

Energy conversion in flashlight.

Explanation:

When the switch of a flashlight is on, then the batteries inside them will be connected in a circuit and chemical energy from the batteries will be converted into electrical energy and then the electrical energy will be converted into light energy.

Light energy is also called electromagnetic energy.

Hence, among the given options the correct one is the first option that is:

1. Electrical energy into electromagnetic energy is the answer.

Air is heated in a glass bottle. The heat energy added to the air is 2.0 × 104 joules. What is the change in internal energy of
Liono4ka [1.6K]
The change in internal energy of the gas is \Delta U = 2.0 \cdot 10^4 J.

In fact, the 1st law of thermodynamics states that the change in internal energy of a system is equal to the amount of heat given to the system (Q) plus the work done on the system (W):
\Delta U = Q+W
In this example, no work is done on the bottle so W=0, while the heat given to the system is Q=2.0 \cdot 10^4 J, so the change in internal energy of the gas is
\Delta U = Q = 2.0 \cdot 10^4 J

In atoms, electrons surround the nucleus in
nasty-shy [4]

In atoms, electrons surround the nucleus in specific energy levels.

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

Atom, actually considered as the tiny part that is ever present in this universe. Many theories and experiments were conducted, for studying what was present inside of an atom, and many theories came into light.

And finally, Bohr-Sommerfeld Theory stated the final conclusion, that the positive charge is at the centre of the nucleus, and all the electrons revolve in their specific energy levels. If an atom wants to move to lower energy state, it should emit energy, whereas for going to higher state, it should gain energy.

What is the net work done on the 20kg block while it moves the 4 meters?
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

The answer to your question is 784.8 J. None of your answer, did you forget some information?

Explanation:

Data

mass = 20 kg

distance = 4 m

work = ?

Formula

Work = force x distance

Force = mass x gravity

Process

1.- Calculate the weight of the block

     Weight = 20 x 9.81

     Weight = 196.2 N

2.- Calculate the work done

     Work = 196.2 x 4

     Work = 784.8 J
